Our Idea
Each generation, passing something to the next. But what have we, the latest generation been given? We have given a world so connected, a world where news can travel in a matter of seconds. We can now see everything that is happening in our world, the good and the bad. It will soon be our job to continue the good and fix the bad. We can see the suffering due to poverty, war and greed in our Facebook news feeds and yet we do nothing about it. So we will be the generation making the decisions about how the world is run, and when that day comes we must overcome the pressures of War, Poverty and Greed and redesign the world to be better. Our character – Iris – must overcome the walls that block her path in order to design a way for her future.

The animation process was split up as follows:
Jiten: Animate Iris in the first section, being chased by look people.
Malachi: Animate Iris falling.
Shadid: Animate Iris landing on the brain then putting it back together. Put the final video together ready for submission.
Ryan: Animate Iris in the real world.
Shariq: create the backgrounds for Jiten's and Ryan's scenes and the close brain background for Shadid's Scenes

I did some environment tests, using the puppet pin tool to animate the rope in the pulley system

To create the scribble effect, I created a 10 frame scribble animation sequence in Photoshop then turned int a video file in after effects. To add it to the character in after effects I had to duplicate her composition 2 or 3 time and set one of then to "stencil alpha" channel and the other would have a Luma key filter on it. This effectively split the black from each other without affecting the animation. Once I had sorted the process out I then relayed it to the rest of the group so that they could add it to their compositions. I also used the liquefy tool on the hair and changed the face position to give the face a slight 3D effect when head is turning. This just added a bit more depth to the character.
