Winter Studying Challenge

01.12.22 | Day 43

❄️ What is your favorite winter drink?

Tea 🍵 or Coffee ☕

Good morning. ❄️

Sorry for the empty post, I just spent most of the morning drinking a hot tottie. Sinuses are trying to flare up due to this indecisive weather we're having here in the STL. But yes, during the winter, my favorite drinks are a hot cup of coffee with pumpkin spice creamer or a hot cup of Yogi Green Tea (Kombucha or Super Antioxidant).

Currently, it's the Kombucha with 5 cough drops, and a lemon juice mixed in and I'm about to fix myself a yummy breakfast. So, with that said, I'm going to enjoy the final day of my birthday vacation 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. It went by WAY too fast, but I did get some things accomplished and plenty of rest, as well as some good reading in too.

Local plague priest and heretic slayer, he’s here to be an old fart and stab people in the eye. 

In a show of his faith, he severed his wing membranes and replaced them with scrolls of religious text, all of which he burns. When the final piece becomes ash, he deems his work done for the day and returns to the lair where the scrolls are rewritten and replaced. Some of the scrolls are written with the names of dissenters, others with individuals whom he visits to “reignite” their faith. Most however are written with righteous and rather violent passages of his intentions for the day.

I worked from 8am to 8pm, with only a couple of breaks to run errands and go to an orchestra meeting for my son, and even made dinner.  My brain is fried.  My job has really gone from 15 to 75 in a week.  Convergence of the new promotion, quarter close, and this other research project that was given to me (that has been an unending exercise in frustration and bullshirtery).  Ya girl is a tired lady.

Out of Practice

It was early when Rian took her leave from the Embassy. Her face almost green with her discomfort despite the effort she put forward to shrug off the deed. Mister Nightfall had needed help. Lingering void plaguing his thoughts and dreams, voices and many of them lingering in his mind. While Rian had explained she wasn’t familiar with the in-depth healing arts in regards to the Light, she was familiar enough to cleanse and purify. 

She’d not realized how terribly out of practice she was. The prayer seemed to have worked for Mister Nightfall, but the repercussions came with a price. Her mother’s words ringing out in her mind, ‘Any spellwork requires physical energy, the same as it would take to achieve the task without it.’ It was why Theron’s robes were covered in mana-gems. The memory of her Uncle Ewan in the infirmary tents, he had help as well, but healing had taken it’s toll. Light was a wonderful thing but even it’s work had it’s limits.

The woman stumbled into the flat with barely a glance to the guards. Her hand held to her temples as she slowly made her way to the stairs but quickly diverting to the washroom. She’d warned Mister Nightfall that he may feel ill after the cleanse, what she’d forgotten was she might too. 

The night would be long, lingering images from the man’s own thoughts mingling with her own nightmares along with finding herself purging the toxins she’d cleansed. When she was able Rian found her bed, exhausted from what should have been a simple task and hope that with rest it would pass.

Coloring these 2 seconds of animation took 3 hours and its not even doneee.

Its about halfway complete at this point. The backgrounds here still look a bit bad since i didn’t add any motion blur effects to make the transition look nice n stuff ughhhhhhh

Ill get back to workin on this in like... 3 weeks or somethin. The next time i post an update for this would be the final version
