...so when the elder was talking about how the stars only bestow their secrets to the celestial elves because they vow not to interfere or act on the knowledge, i wondered if aaravos's omniscience is bound by a similar limitation. is that why he doesn't directly intervene? why he's being all coy and manipulative instead of i dunno. doing his own dirty work? how does that relate to the whole not lying thing? is he just that committed to the bit?
but the lying is what's got me up after bedtime, writing this barely-coherent post: remember when kosmo told the truth about the pearl in 6x06, how things sorta just went to shit (or at least, consequences went not-the-way-he-wanted)? but when kosmo hedges about the pearl, he's able to change what happened to lock in his preferred timeline
"i'm not lying. i never lie," but aaravos never really gives a straight answer either, does he?
