Though time keeps on ticking, it's the good memories we take with us that keeps lasting smiles. Just to think at this exact time one month ago, I took the stage at Wilsons pub to do a soundcheck for the Wilsons jazz festival with the band Double Wind. It was quite an experience and one I'd never trade. To think of all the bad and the good and then the moments that are unforgettably like sunshine and flowers, these are the "Pennies from Heaven." Thankful! @elhan64 @olegmokhov #wilsonjazzfestival #wilsonspub #krasnodar #timekeepsonticking #throwbacktuesday #penniesfromheaven #doublewind #vocalist #music
Disclaimer: This could totally only pertain to my cat, so don’t hate me.
Cats do not have any sense of time, and I think it’s incredibly beautiful.
Unlike the song birds, cats do not wake every morning at 6am to signal the start of the new day. They do not wait by front door everyday at 4pm, anxiously awaiting your return home. They do not wait by their food bowls every night at 5pm, waiting for their dinner. They do not sit at back door every night at 6pm, begging to go to the washroom. They do not sleep all day, awaking at dust to play all night. Nor do they sleep all night, awaking at dawn to play all day.
Yet we can recite the year, the month, the day. A calender hangs on our wall, outlining our daily schedules. We consistently check the clock, making sure we’re on time. Can I sleep 5 more minutes? Is work almost over? We’ve divided our day into hours, minutes, seconds, milliseconds. Every moment is accounted for, and so we fear time running out. How profoundly different our lives would be if, like a cat, we did not keep time. Would our lives still have meaning, and would out wishes still be granted, if we never saw a clock strike 11:11 again.
tick. tock.
Break-Ups
There's so many feelings when you go through a break-up. There's the ever-present feeling of loss, no matter what kind of relationship you had. The hole-in-the-heart emptiness you feel. The way you feel is a reflection of the relationship you lost. But what does it say about you and your relationship if in the end... You can't really feel anything at all? Is it shock? Did it all mean nothing? Or did it all mean so much that you automatically cope by feeling nothing at all? Maybe it was a long time coming. The world might have bigger plans for your future. Or maybe... You're just meant to be alone. Whatever it is... The only way to sort through whatever it is you're feeling is by letting time tell. Get through your normal life. Eat. Exercise. Don't get stagnant. There might be something better... There might not. But life is all about growing... Whether you just sit there and grow old letting time pass by... Or you go out there and make yourself a better person. Be more. Get more. And most of all... Be happy with what you can provide yourself.
My First Blog. Ever!
It's after midnight ~ most people are already dreaming or snoring (I can hear my husband who's in our room across the hall). Not I. I do my best thinking late at night. Or at least I tell myself that and believe it.
I created this account because I wanted to follow my handsome son's creative blogs. He's literally on the opposite side of the world right now, so we haven't had the chance this past year to really spend valuable time together. It's kinda cool though, how much smaller the world is nowadays. I remember a time not too far back in the past when some of us who are not tooooo old watched Star Trek and the Jetson's and thought that we'd never see their gadgets in our lifetime, but here I am able to talk to someone who is standing upside down on the globe in relation to where I stand, and I'm able to speak to him and see him in his home! The speed at which technology is advancing scares me sometimes. Yet the thought of not having this technology scares me even more.
I don't know a time without television... but my parents do. Many of you don't know a time without the internet.... but I do. I wonder what's in store for the next generation? My grandkids (when I get blessed with some) will probably be neighbours with "aliens" on another planet, while visiting their home planet during their summer vacation, or reading week, or special holidays. Don't think it can't happen... I never thought I'd see a driverless car but THAT'S already here:

Never say never!
I'm going to have to end my note right here, right now. I'm not sure what's happening to this website right now, but there is a lag time between my speedy fingers typing and the letters appearing on the screen. It took many minutes to type these last few sentences! I suppose that might be a message or a sign that we shouldn't always count on technology!!
