....UHM I'M SORRY WHAT DID I JUST WATCH.
FLYNN IS... GONE?
Y'know I don't quite believe that yet. There's still like an hour-ish left, there has to be a way that they bring him back, or a way that he didn't die.
Remember in Season 1 how Lucy said she was in an accident where her car went off a bridge and into a body of water and a random "stranger" saved her??? Well I've always thought it was Wyatt who saved her. And now we have proof the Time Team can travel to a time they've already been to it's even more likely my theory could be true. Now we just need a season 3 so shit can be resolved and I can see if this ever comes up.
Hilary!!! Thoughts on the new promo stills??
Ahahahah. Let’s break this down here.
1) Jessica with Rittenhouse. Wow. Such shock. Very stun. Really resolving the love triangle in an original and meaningful way there, guys. There better be an amazing explanation for this BS/we get to see Jessica fight back against RH even after following orders, because “she’s just evil now in the last two episodes, sorry” is THE LAZIEST thing I can possibly think of and I want to think they’re better than that. Especially after they SPECIFICALLY TALKED ABOUT not making her into a one-note evil ex. Like jesus christ. This is so bad on so many levels if they play it straight. Like somehow Jessica did nothing when she had so many chances to mess them up, tricked Lucy into walking away/letting her have a second chance with Wyatt when she was all set to divorce him/has been playing some long con emotionally manipulative BS/etc. It’s just so gross and strips Wyatt of any responsibility for acting like a tool (as well as the power of Lucy deciding on her own to walk away) and flattens a likable female character into another screeching evil harpy brought back solely to cause love triangle drama, be evil, and (god let’s hope not) get killed again. If she HAS to die, she better go down a god damn hero having taken a couple RH dudes with her. I accept nothing less. Anyway. I will restrain my frothing salt and rage until I see this play out. Still stan her either way.
2) It looks like Wyatt and Flynn (and Lucy) all get hurt. I need Flynn and Wyatt to both get hurt saving her, for any number of reasons. Especially Flynn. Because him taking a bullet for her after using her as a human shield in the pilot would be a Lot and this is fine.
3) It also looks like the team makes it back to the bunker after Chinatown with the exception of Rufus, which stresses me out. So Wyatt probably isn’t gonna sacrifice his seat (sigh), Rufus may die in some (tempoRARY!!!!) fashion, per Jiya’s visions, and she is the one to pilot them home. So then they have to figure out how to rescue him/save him somehow, but that involves traveling on your own timeline, which they can’t do, and without Rufus, they have almost zippo chance of figuring it out. BUT:
4) I have been theorizing with @extasiswings about this and we Really Have a Need now, so I’m gonna be mad if it doesn’t happen, but I also think it will:
5) There’s a picture of the team (sans Rufus) gathered together in the bunker and clearly prepared for somebody arriving. Wyatt and Denise have guns, they all look worried. We also know that the last scene of Chinatown is gonna blow everyone’s minds and spawn a lot of fanfic. We also had the tease of seeing Lucy in another light (dark Lucy on her rage spiral) and then IN ANOTHER NEW LIGHT that would make our jaws drop. Abigail Spencer has been coy about whether we are going to meet Future Lucy. So, I am here and now proposing that the cliffhanger is Future Lucy arriving in the bunker.
6) Because think about it.
We know the journal origin sets up s3. It would be very surprising if the last scene didn’t have to do with that somehow.
We’ve heard about Flynn meeting future Lucy and the questions around the journal and Lucy thinking it was impossible for that to happen.
Flynn told her that she gave him the journal in 1x16. That would parallel actual Future Lucy turning up in 2x10.
They need to have time tech to travel on their own timelines to save Rufus.
Future Lucy turning up is obviously a ZOMGZ! moment and breaks/reshuffles the rules of the show as we know them.
Those dastardly bastards would then be able to fulfill the Lyatt foreshadowing (present Lucy may agree/be open to the idea of rekindling things with Wyatt once he figures himself out) AND the Garcy foreshadowing (future Lucy is with Flynn/is there to see Flynn again). You could have two versions of Lucy, one with Wyatt and one with Flynn (also implying that Flynn is her future which I’m fine with). They would have played it both ways because PSYCHE! It IS both ways! At least for now. I would hate them but also love them a bit and have to tip my hat.
Goran referenced the Man in High Castle in an interview a while ago. That’s a show that also has multiple timelines/realities and different versions of people. Flynn has also said that at times it seems like the journal was written by a different Lucy. So what if this is Original Flavor Lucy driving her time machine into the bunker, from the timeline where the journal happened as it was and didn’t get changed?
Also anyway. Aside from this. CAN YOU IMAGINE IF FLYNN, HAVING WALKED AWAY FROM LUCY RIGHT NOW TO ALLOW FOR HER HAPPINESS, THEN SAW HIS LUCY AT THE END? HE GAVE HER UP AND THEN THE LUCY HE ORIGINALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH RETURNED TO HIM?
Because wow. Can you. Even IMAGINE HIS FACE.
Especially if we don’t see who it is, we just see the team completely stunned and shaken and staring. And then this giddy smile spreads across Flynn’s face and he’s all “….Lucy?”
(Advance reviews also said their relationship got more “confusing.” It doesn’t seem like it’s just about an aborted confession of feelings. Future Lucy turning up in the bunker and him seeing her again? Yeah. That does qualify as a Wild Card Supremo.)
Anyway. We wouldn’t see how that played out until s3, and Future Lucy probably would not stay very long, but she might be on the same trip that she gave Flynn the journal on – i.e. if it’s dangerous, do it all at once, so she just saw him miserable and alone in the bar a few days ago for her, and now here he is with the team. And I have 10000 feelings about this as a possible ending, and also need it, and think it has a pretty good chance of happening, so.
Prediction for Emma Whitmore
Yeah Wyatt has jealousy issues, but Emma really takes the cake.
Her main motivation for hating Lucy is that Lucy was offered a place in Rittenhouse because of her bloodline, while she had to work her way through the ranks. And then Lucy had the audacity to turn the offer down. Emma takes personal offence to that. Especially given that Lucy’s bloodline still puts her among the ranks for Rittenhouse leadership.
This new takeover of power is going to have very different repercussions in season 3, I think, because Emma does not follow by the same ideology that Rittenhouse does. Rittenhouse was about creating a perfect “cleansed” world that they could control. Emma isn’t about changing the world - she’s about retribution for perceived wrongs against her. I predict that her targets are going to be picked with much more precision and with more personal symbolism than we’ve previously seen in Rittenhouse missions. With Emma, it’s not about the “bigger picture,” it’s about revenge.
But, as always, making hot-headed decisions fuelled by vengeance will only get you so far. This road is not going to end well for Emma. I can’t wait.
A Blissful Night (A Lyatt ficlet)
Synopsis : The morning after the kiss Wyatt and Lucy share in the Season 2 teaser. Fluffy and smutty.
Rated : Explicit
She wasn’t sure what pushed her to make the first move. Maybe the uncomfortable reality of her growing feelings for him. The tension due to their proximity in the hotel room? The fear of losing him again? The comfort of feeling safe by his side perhaps. Or was it the fact that he was the only one who could understand what she was experiencing right now – the loss of control upon her own life, threatened by an abyss, named Rittenhouse, that was about to swallow her whole.
But these considerations mattered very little at this precise moment. She was in his arms, her leg wrapped around his, his arm safely tightened around her waist and her hand resting on his jaw, the prickling feeling of his stubble a wonder under her fingers. For the first time in forever she felt like she belonged, like her life had a little bit of sense.
She looked up to find him soundly asleep, his features totally relaxed. She memorized the sight of him, aware of the preciousness of the moment. Too often she’d seen him in pain, tortured – physically or emotionally - angry or tense during their missions. No matter what was to happen between them, she knew she would cherish this vision of him. Like she would cherish this stolen night.
Her fingers automatically reached to her lips as the sensations came back to her mind.
The way she kissed him first and the way he kissed her back, capturing her bottom lip, lightly sucking on it until he made her moan and go limp in his arms.
The constant pressure he applied at the back of her neck to keep her close to him.
@modernlifehistorian @chasethesun18 @shorthairdontcare22 @mockingjays-daughter @bestshipcaptainswan You’ve asked, I gave. You’re going to hate this, I’m so sorry. Premise: this is entirely speculation, based on the new promo and small pieces of information * (like almost nonexistent) shared by who saw 2x06. I’m going to investigate further, but in the meanwhile, here are my thoughts. From the new promo we know that Denise gives Wyatt orders to take Carol down, sending him on a mission in RH headquarters. In the promo we can see Wyatt pointing his gun to Carol, lots of turmoil in his eyes, and an explosion. The question I want to focus on, is: would Wyatt actually shoot Carol? The thing is, Wyatt probably hates Carol not only because she’s RH, but because of everything she’s done to Lucy and the pain she caused her. I wouldn’t exclude that Wyatt might kill Carol to make her pay, but I also believe that he wouldn’t do that without Lucy being aware of the situation and not knowing if she would actually be “okay” with it (ugh, I hate to use this word, but I can’t find a good alternative). Because, despite the fact that in 2x01 Lucy has said that she would have blown up the mothership, with her and her mother in it, it’s not quite that simple. As much as Lucy maybe angry at her mother, she’s always Lucy and I’m not that sure she would be ready to deal with Carol’s death, even less willingly being part of it. That said, let’s try to outline a few scenarios. Screeners said that something big is going to happen and that there will be a huge Lyatt moment, but I can’t tell if it’s going to be emotional in a good or in a bad way...I see emojis with tears, and comments such as “MY LYATT HEART”. Draw your own conclusions. I hope we’ll discover more soon. That said...I can see 3 possible scenarios, at the moment. 1. Wyatt decides to put the gun down. Carol doesn’t die. She’s around for the season finale. 2. Wyatt follows the orders and pulls the trigger. Carol dies. (this is the option I like less, but I can’t pretend it’s not a possibility) 3. Wyatt doesn’t shoot. Carol commits suicide and the explosion we see in the promo is caused by her. Now, in all of these scenarios, I feel like Wyatt and Carol might have a huge conversation. About what? Possibilities are 1) Carol is trying to save Lucy and she gives him information about RH to help them 2) Carol knows something about Jessica we don’t know (who’s Amanda, again?) 3) Carol tells him what happened to Lucy during those six weeks she has spent with RH 4) Some of these options combined, or all of them. I would personally like to see the third scenario (sorry Lucy, I don’t want you to be in pain, but this option is the one that intrigues me the most from a narrative perspective, forgive me), and possibilities 1 and 3. Finally, I’m going to raise another question/possibility. Let’s assume the second scenario will be the one to play out, and that possibility n°3, or all possibilities combined, are real. Could it be that Wyatt decides to not shoot Carol in a first moment, but what she tells him is so horrible/awful that would push Wyatt to shoot her in a second moment? Because let’s be real, I’m 98% certain something really bad happened to Lucy during those 6 weeks. Maybe something along the lines of brainwashing, through psychological torture. This is all pure speculation. Nothing canon here. I know that these are dark options, but my brain still produced them and I felt the need to share them. I know you will all hate this post, I ask for forgiveness in advance, btw. You can kick me out of the fandom, now 🙈
*I think I’ve seen more, but I can’t find those tweets anymore, sorry.
Right, well, I’m monumentally excited about Rufus/Flynn bonding in 2x07. But while we’re on the subject of team members growing to trust and respect Flynn, can we talk about Denise? Because she’s gone from arresting him to “We can’t let him out of prison” to reluctantly being convinced to send him with Lucy and Rufus in 2x04 to sending him with the boys in 2x05 to sending him with the team in 2x06/2x07? And my theory for 2x08 is that Rittenhouse isn’t going to stop at maybe doing something to Denise in the past. They’ll go after her family in the present as well (based on the fact that they’ve been threatened and Sakina Jaffrey said something about a later episode focusing on Denise’s family). And Flynn can’t go to 1981, so he’ll be in the present with her.
Are we going to get Flynn helping to save Denise’s family? Helping to save another government agent’s wife and daughter from Rittenhouse when he wasn’t able to save his own? Are we going to get, as @qqueenofhades rudely suggested to me this morning, Flynn comforting a scared young girl after dealing with RH? Are we going to get Denise/Flynn bonding? ARE WE?
I need it.
