Always There

I felt lost after

an exhausting day

and from the path

I swayed away.

Closing my eyes,

I prayed and prayed

for time to stop,

for the moment to stay.

I wanted to talk

to someone, somewhere.

Needed some love

and a little care.

In this world

where nothing's fair,

my eyes met yours.

You were always there.

Nyctophilia

Let's run away to the stars

And leave everything behind. 

Together we'll tell the moon

About the peace so hard to find. 

We'll ask the planets their secrets. 

How do they keep their pace? 

Why don't they stutter and stumble

While we fall on our face? 

Let's disappear in the darkness

And never ever return. 

Shadows cannot haunt us

Without the rays of the sun. 

After all, the beauty of mornings

And the blue noon skies

Do not compare to the serenity

Of a starless night.

Dear fig,

One hot summer's day

I was wondering how

in this spinning world

God bestowed upon me

a home called you.

The Frigid Trail

A trail through the forest

Dark and cold

Stumbling footsteps

No hand to hold.

Distant sirens

Echoing through

Ragged breaths

Blood turns blue.

Cloud veiled moon

Hungry predators

Bruised limbs

And a torn sweater.

A Long journey

No end in sight

Still continues

The struggle, the fight.

Becoming Her Own Person

She believed her feelings for him were tangible,

And that they were reciprocated.

However, things have changed.

She grew up to realise how rotten the world is,

And how naive she had been -

Wearing her heart on her sleeves

And hoping to touch the sky.

Now, he tries to get her attention,

but she is over and done with it.

She is becoming her own person

And she'll be someone she is proud to be.
