“I think the cupcakes can use a little more icing.” Katherine muttered, crossing her arms as she looked at the tiny cakes with a suspicious look in her eyes “We can go for blue or lilac-- that’s the only two we have left. Which one? Be honest.”
He was just sitting there, watching time and life unfold in front of him. It was different than before -- there was no parallel world for him to inhabit. Kai had been surviving on his mind alone. Visual memory had warped. He’d forgotten how things smelled, how they felt. The warmth of the sun on his face. His presence on the physical plain was both unnerving and inviting.
