Ever since Shiraishi had received news that the woman had been fired, she had been willing herself a period of grace from her busy schedules – preferably sooner rather than later. Not that she is the type to abandon her schedules. Never. Nonetheless, she had yearned to spend even a meagre few hours with her casual friend. Thankfully, something had been upon their side (because time certainly isn’t) and her wishes had been granted – a short gap had arisen and she had not let the opportunity simply slip by. More than anything, she had been curious to hear the side of Miyuki’s story, which led her to be fired. Or did she quit on her own? Mai simply assumed the former, as it was usual in those cases she had experience on. Bad experiences when it came to her assistants. And here they are, rather awkwardly sitting across from the other, waiting for the other to speak up. ( Quite an awkward, yet hilarious situation to witness. )
However a smile managed to grace her visage. The kind of smile which manages to exist beyond the corners of her lips, blossoming across the canvas of her face yet a small one. Needless to say, it could be sensed both women wanted to actually get along better and form a stronger friendly bond between the both of them yet Mai’s natural reticence to it was in the way. She did want to get along with the Watanabe woman but her harsh opinion on assistants ( based on many bad experiences ) was what prevented the friendship to flow more smooth.
Although, after a few beats of rather uncomfortable silence, her own vocals shatter such silence they had been swaddled in. “ Been fired, I presume? ” her smile becomes touched with that arrogance of her, which resurfaced every now and then. Not on purpose, of course. Not in this case, at least.
