Can you imagine how efficient we would be if we didn't care about time slots being a nice round number. Like what if we started school at 9:43 because it's the best waking hour and one lesson would take exactly 36 minutes because that'd be the perfect learning time.
Instead of working 9-5 we could work 9:43-4:21 with a 23-minute break and an 46-minute break. Peak human efficiency (probably)
An #office #transport #public #service #announcement especially those within the #taguigarea ... #shuttleservice #timeslots ..NOTE: THIS IS FOR CNX EMPLOYEES Shuttle services ONLY .. as per SOM @edwardsarmiento83 "Hello Team, Thank you for your continued passion for service, we know that it's a struggle to get to and from the office with this weather condition. Please know that you can use this group page if there would be anything we can do for you at this time. Here are a few updates that would hopefully help us out: 1. We have requested the office to provide additional sleeping quarters for both sites, you can reach out to the security officers so they can direct you to our designated areas. 😴😴😴 2. Shuttle Service, additional trips are scheduled. Please take note of the pick-up times in the graphic attached to this message. 🚐 3. REWS confirmed food availability just in case.🍴 4. Constant flood alerts are sent in our G Updates Viber chat, please reachout to your TCs or managers to check your area or the roads you'd be passing by. 🏊🏊🏊 5. Lastly, G has allowed us to come to work in shorts and flipflops for both #mcKinley and #uptown. But please keep it decent. 🙂 We would appreciate it if you can keep your team captains and managers informed of your whereabouts, especially if you would not be able to make it to work. We are accounting for all our employees and wanted to make sure everyone is safe. 🙋🙋🙋 Thank you everyone and please stay safe. 🌂🌂🌂"
Survivor is very likely going to be on at the same time as Empire next year and I want nothing more than the 17 year old survivor going into its 35th season to be Empire going into its 4th
Before starting the coding of the appointments model, I mapped out various thoughts on how it would be used.
The appointments model is core to the application. The primary product of the business is, after all, scheduling appointments.
From the client’s point of view, he wants to schedule an appointment with a service provider. Let’s start with a simple case. Say there is a sole proprietor, a piano teacher, who gives lessons to individuals. So each lesson has a capacity of one. There is only one employee, the sole proprietor. That is, the piano teacher. Let’s call the teacher Patty and the client Clyde. Patty decides she has four timeslots available on Wednesdays for piano lessons. Clyde wants to sign up for the 2:00 PM lesson. Each lesson is an hour.
Even in this simple case, a lot of entities come to mind:
users of the system (Patty, Clyde)
a business (Patty’s Piano Lessons)
an employee/instructor (Patty)
a business owner (Patty)
a lesson type (private lesson, capacity 1)
a timeslot (start time, duration, lesson type)
a client relationship (Clyde is a client of Patty’s Piano Lessons)
an appointment (the client Clyde wants to attend timeslot 2)
Now let’s examine a more complex example. Holly’s Hunters is an equestrian facility with several horses, multiple rings, and multiple instructors. First, let’s look at the above entities:
users of the system (owner, employees, clients, potential clients)
the business (Holly’s Hunters)
employees/instructors (let’s say there are four)
a business owner (Holly)
lesson types (private lesson, semi-private, group, grooming - each with different capacities)
timeslots (with multiple rings, two timeslots can share the same time, as long as they occur in different rings)
client relationships
appointments
Now we find a couple of additional things are missing. First, there is the ring; where does this lesson occur? Are there multiple locations, rings, classrooms, workstations, offices? Second, there is an additional resource: the horse. Do other businesses have other equipment or resource requirements?
For that matter, there may be limitations on the use of locations and resources. Maybe a ring can only be used 8 times a day before it has to be watered or raked. Other locations may require cleaning after a number of uses. Horses might only be allowed to participate in one or two lessons a day. Employees will need to be able to view the schedule of each location and resource in addition to the instructors’ schedules. In addition, students can only attend classes for which they are qualified.
Anyway, this adds four more entities:
location (business has multiple locations, each used in multiple timeslots)
resource (business has multiple resources, each used in multiple timeslots)
skill (business has multiple skills)
skill rating (a client has a rating in each skill)
A more complicated business might involve multiple types of resources. I will defer that thought for later. Although location and resource have similar relationships, they would have different attributes. A location would have a maximum capacity that could be greater than one. A resource is more individual, but a separate one may be required by each client. Thus the location is tied more to the timeslot, while the resource is tied more to the appointment.
Over time more entities will become apparent. For now, this should be enough to start a data model.
Finally the #timeslots are up. So many people conflicting that I wanted to see. This should be interesting. #Beyond #BeyondWonderland #BayArea #Insomniac #EDM #PLUR #RAGE #WestCoastRagers (at Shoreline Amphitheatre)
