Interdimensional Extinction (2015), Starspawn (2016), Hidden History of the Human Race (2019), Timewave Zero (2022), Absolute Elsewhere (2024), Blood Incantation
Gradually Blood Incantation’s sci-fi has bled from the lyrics into the music itself; what was once competently progressive death metal, small in scope, has gradually become totally galactic. Lengthier, multiple movement tunes arrived on Starspawn, a clearer sense of drama took hold on Hidden History of the Human Race, ambient richness and quiet drama was practised and emphasised on Timewave Zero; and all came together on 2024’s Absolute Elsewhere. This is indisputably mighty stuff, no wonder it can convert to metal even the daintiest of music nerds (yes, me).
Pick(s): ‘Obfuscating the Linear Threshold’, ‘Vitrification of Blood (Pt 1)’, ‘Awakening From the Dream of Existence to the Multidimensional Nature of Our Reality (Mirror of the Soul)’, ‘Ea: Third Movement’, ‘Stargate [Tablet III]’
