Johnny jumped a little as he felt warm arms embrace him. His eyes widened in surprise to see the green-clad plumber giving him a hug. It was the first time the two of them had hugged, and it caught him off guard.

It was unexpected, but he couldn't help feeling a warmth wash over him, and a familiar tingling feeling in his chest. It was the feeling of comradery - of friendship. A feeling he couldn't ignore as he wrapped his arms around the other man, making sure he didn't cut him with his hook.

"Arr! You're gonna turn me soft if ya keep this up!" He chuckled a little. He couldn't deny that he could get used to getting hugged.

"Well.." It had seemed funny to Mario in his head, but his brother was not wrong, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to start anything with Bowser, know knew how he might retaliate? And he didn't want to worry his brother, or Peach, or make either one of them angry at him.

"Sure, you can have the keys to my kingdom." DK shrugs his shoulders as if unphased by the outlandish suggestion. "If you can beat me in a fight." He adds not to soon after, beginning to size the plumber up. He breathes a huff of air out of his nostrils and into Mr. L's face.

"You got the attitude but d'ya got the strength to back it up?" The ape smirks, laying the intimidation on thick. Like hell was he about to give up his kingdom to this short stack going through an identity crisis! He was just trying to be nice.

you crave a hug that cracks your ribs… the feeling of your wandering soul being crushed back into the bones that can't seem to hold it. you need a hand gripping yours so tightly you almost fear it may leave a bruise, a reminder that you are here. and that you are not alone.

He leaves a nice basket full of home-made bread.

"Arr! What a nice present! I can make lots of toast and sandwiches with this! I'll have to do something really nice for Luigi later...Maybe I can buy him something expensive." Johnny said as he held the fresh baked goods close to him.

He didn't really know how to cook, and last time he tried, he was banished from the kitchen. Paying him back with anything he cooked himself would definitely be a sub-par gift.

In fact, it'd be a terrible gift.
