A gift? She hadn't lost so much track of time that her birthday had already arrived, right? No, of course not. She examined the presents in his hands then remembered, chuckling softly at her own forgetfulness.

" Ah, it's that one holiday...the one for love and the like. " She took the gifts with a smile. " My people do not celebrate the holiday, so I'm afraid I don't have anything for you. You did give something to that crush of yours, though, right? Daisy? "

Sleigh bells ringing. Church choir singing. What does it all means!?

It is all gobbledegook and nonsense - a worthless exchange! Except for one part. As Bowser watched a man pushed a decorated box into his beloved's hands, oppurtunity knocked. If people are forced to trade presents, then Princess Peach would be forced to have an audience with him!

His new plan demands perfect execution! He must know everything about the holiday! So began Luigi's summoning... via a paratroopa knocking at the door at the crack of dawn.

"His majesty says... STRINGBEAN! Got your next job lined up! Meet me in your... New Dork Kingdom!... and bring your... Krer... mist... mas SPIRIT"

His demand is sincere. The giant had already begun his investigation! In place of his spiked bands are glowing christmas lights, and his mane is tucked away beneath a large red Sanda hat. His guise is oddly calming... few had reacted to his presence. Missing morning coffee may be the culprit. He has be dubbed Christmas Godzilla by another pesserby. His tapping foot cracks the sidewalk still and is the signal for any approaching plumber to hurry up before he goes into a store himself...!

Emeralds adorned the green-favoring brother meanwhile there were rubies in Mario's own crown. The twins ruled this kingdom together and that meant they should at least look like it Mario figured. This tiny mistake didn't offend Mario. Actually, he was just looking out for his not-so-little brother. Watching the innocent man realize his situation Mario smiled. Then he spoke.

" You'd forget-a your 'stache if it wasn't-attached eh bro?" Light teasing at worst. " We need to-a keep up appearances y'know. Princes without-a their crowns are just-a big Toads."

How long had it been since they last crossed paths? Everything seemed like a distant memory to Johnny. The day he met THE Mario and had the pleasure of facing him in an honorable duel between men. It was something the shark cherished, a battle like not other.

One that filled his old heart with a maelstrom of excitement. It had been so long since he'd had an experience like that, and since that day he'd not been able to replicate the feelings of that day. Peering up from the depths, the pirate basked in the dappled sunlight of the water. It was hard to think that this was once a world in peril, one clenched in the grasp of a cruel blacksmith... He let the thought brew in the back of his mind, until something caught his eye from the pier. Someone had been sitting there, their feet inches from the water's surface. It was a familiar silhouette.

As familiar as a rippled form could look below the water. Could it be?

After all this time, could his mate Mario finally back in his part of town? A wave of excitement crossed his form, and Johnny swam towards the figure. In a whirlwind of emotion, he shot up and grabbed the figure's leg with a big, toothy smile.

"Arrr! It's good to see you again, mate! How have you bee-"

Wait...

That wasn't Mario at all.

'So, how do I use this again?' He's stumped. Luigi made it look easy; even when quaking in his boots, Lu had managed to capture at least three ghosts with the Poltergust.

Mario meanwhile, is still trying to work the thing out! He'd never had to bust ghosts in this way before! Most of Mario's enemies could be dealt with by using a power up or at least a good round of fisty cuffs.

A shiver, or more like a jolt, runs through the red plumber, face exploding into the shame color of his famous cap. Ah. Crud, so Luigi had caught him? Probably his own fault for not being more subtle.

His twin could always sense was something was wrong. It was part of their bond, eternal as stars. If one of them was happy, they felt it. If one of them was injured, miles and miles away, the other would feel it as keenly as if they had gotten burned then and there too.

"Nothing!" The elder twin pipes, putting on his best, cheerful voice (which wasn't hard considering his falsetto). "Just-a some stuff I don't feel-a like putting away!"

He wouldn't let Luigi know he had a diary of all things, a specific one with little drawings and poems dedicated to someone he had eyes for.

He squints...eyes pretty much going cross as he lifts his hand up between them to study it and form a fist. "Uh...NO DUH???"

Still, there were a lot of weird phrases he'd heard involuntarily from the human kingdom (no thanks to certain PLUMBERS) to know that it possibly had some other meaning.

Welp, time to investigate. With Luigi's laptop! @timid-plumber Because he's chilling with the plumbers today and Luigi isn't around to guard his stuff.

"Let's seeeee..." Tip, tap, tip, tap...he flicks each key with his pinkie carefully before pressing enter and squinting at the screen. Murmuring lowly as he read over a description slowly, he suddenly freezes, trailing off.

"W-WHAT THE HELL?!" His face burning all the way up to his ears, he slaps the laptop away from him. "I DO NOT...!!"

He leaves the laptop with the search screen still open when he turns to gallop down the stairs in the hopes of finding something to smash until his face cooled off from 'beating the shit out of the environment therapy.'
