sylver, i know a trans person who would really love to get into books with trans rep, especially ownvoices, but this person has basically no disposable income, so here is my question to you: do you happen to know of any free trans books/short stories/etc? (obviously ideally i would point them to you, but money!)

I know I just saw some good lists around here the other day, hang on…

I can’t find the trans lists I wanted, but these might be relevant/there’s probably some overlap:

Two of my CHAMELEON MOON short stories are on there, ALWAYS BE YOU and HAPPY REGARDS/THE LIBRARY GHOST (so 3, actually, that’s a 2-in-1, all with whole queer/trans casts) but I also have RUNTIME for free (and always will be). You don’t have to have read CM to enjoy these, I don’t think, especially RUNTIME, which immediately precedes the first book. ABY also stands on its own pretty well, I think.

If I think of any more I’ll add to this - everybody feel free to do the same!

-raises hand- as a Certified ADHD i would like to add that hyperfocus is a thing that happens so sometimes your ability to read jumps up 1000% and you lose six hours in a story (i feel the 'reading but not absorbing' though it me)

Yuuuup I’ve definitely had this happen too! I once read an entire book in a day because I was SO EXCITED TO READ IT. XD

i feel ridiculous even asking this, but: somewhere between my last time wearing it and now, my favorite blouse has gotten fabric softener on it (which is stored in the bin above it with the lid sealed, but i recognize now it shouldn't have been anywhere near my clothes). it's now turned blue, and i don't know how to fix it, or even if it's fixable? it's yolanda's 'tipsy morning dolly blouse' if that helps, i couldn't find specific washing directions for it. please help me?

I would say to just hand wash it in a tub of warm water with a little gentle detergent. Since the spot is from fabric softener I imagine it’s designed not to stain so it should wash right out. Since the blouse is all white you don’t have to worry about any colors running like you would with something printed and it doesn’t really have a lot of details that could get hurt by being washed. You could probably even throw it in the washing machine in a lingerie bag on the delicate cycle without any problem, that’s how I wash most of my blouses.Then just hang it up to dry instead of putting it in the dryer.

this is like the one thing i trust you with and is in fact why you are my favorite author. (i mean, there are many other reasons but this is what drew me to you initially)
