Untitled: Chapter 1B
Title: Untitled Pairing: Tim Lincecum / OFC POV: Third Person Rating: PG
Tim didn’t know why, but he was drawn to the girl sitting by herself at the bar.
He noticed her right as he walked in and assumed she was waiting for someone until he noticed Rob - one of his favorite bartenders from the restaurant - place a piece of cake in front of her with a single lit candle. Was she really celebrating her birthday by herself?
Tim shook his head and walked up right behind her, “So did you make a wish?”
She turned to look at him, pausing for a second and seemingly recognizing him before smiling and replying, “Why yes actually, I did.”
He tried to ask her what she wished for as he slid into the bar stool next to her but she refused to budge, protesting it wouldn’t come true if she said it aloud. He did however manage to find out that she was new in the city and didn’t really know anyone.
Rob appeared to take his order - and he chatted with him briefly. He was supposed to be meeting his friends, Drew and Sean, but decided to order a drink for a bit of liquid courage. He also told Rob to put the girl’s meal on his tab. She protested multiple times but Tim wouldn’t take no for answer, shaking his head and smiling, “Birthday gift”. Her cheeks flushed red at his gesture and he found it quite adorable.
Rob bought him his order - a simple glass of bourbon straight - and he sat in silence sipping his drink while she finished her cake slice. There was something about this girl that Tim felt so utterly refreshing. He was almost positive that she recognized him, but she didn’t make a big fuss or badger him. It’s almost as if she didn’t seem to care who he was.
Tim paid the tab as she thanked him at least a dozen more times and then helped her off the bar stool.
He looked right into her hazel eyes and asked, “So what does the birthday girl have planned for the rest of the night?”
They walked outside and she shrugged slightly before walking in what appeared to be no specific direction, “Nothing really. Guess It’s a pretty boring birthday”.
He shook his head slightly. It actually seemed nice and peaceful and he told her as much before asking if she minded if he kept her company.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to face him, almost as if looking for something in his eyes, but she didn’t hesitate much and swiftly agreed to his company. Tim smiled, not knowing what the night would bring, but open to the adventure - it was about time he did something outside of his usual hermit character. He’d explain to Drew and Sean later why he stood them up, but he was more than sure they would understand.
