Sooo since we are able to get tattoos in Tineballe, I was wondering how the ROs would react to the MC getting a tramp stamp and who out of the ROs could be convinced to get a tramp stamp? Asking for no reason in particular 😊

Calliope would love it for both herself and MC. In fact, she’d want matching ones, or maybe corresponding ones like intersecting gears.

Corinne wouldn’t get one herself. She’d take issue with the term “tramp stamp”, but if it was simply a meaningful tattoo in a secret spot on MC that only she could find, she’d find that very hot.

Vicente could be convinced as long as it had symbolism behind it, no meaningless decorations. And please god, no matching ones. They’d also find it very hot on MC.

Bayram would totally be down for it, and he’d find it incredibly sexy on MC.

Tellus wouldn’t get one and he’d be flustered as heck if MC did. If MC is wearing something skimpy and that tattoo is peeking, expect to be wrapped in his jacket and him hollering at every passerby to look away.

I have to wonder, in chapter five when the group is planning before heading out to infiltrate the forte, Bayram mentions the Koro. He says it is the war song of his people and helps bolster comrades and strikes fear in enemies. Does this relate to the Haka? In Māori culture the Haka is used in a lot of social events including celebrations birthdays, weddings, funerals and other important events. But, there is also another that was used before battle. Known as a War Challenge or War Cry. Officially they are called The Peruperu Haka, which was performed with weapons, and Haka Taparahi or Ngeri that doesn't use weapons. These Haka were historically performed on the battlefield before a fight to intimidate enemies, boost warriors' morale, and summon the god of war for protection and strength. The aggressive facial expressions were meant to scare the opponents, while the cry itself was to lift their own morale and call on God for help to win. It just sounds a little similar to me when I think about how the Koro is worded to represent the importance of it and Tinebaille's culture.

This isn’t a question but I always pictured Bayram with Dwayne Johnson’s Grandfather’s build. Plus he’s Samoan and I always figured if Tinebaille could be compared with any modern culture it would be something Polynesian.

Tinebaille, like all of Cantata’s cultures, is a mish mosh of several influences. The physical features of the people of Tinebaille would most resemble Polynesian, correct. However, the language and architecture is more similar to Turkish/Ottoman, with geometric mosaics and patterns like Iranian architecture. And the clothing is similar to Indian attire.

When I was reading Cantata I got reminded by Bayram's battle cry of a very old history lesson in school about the song "Ktož jsú boží bojovníci" aka "Ye Who Are Warriors of God" aka the Hussites war song

One funny story about this song is that apparently one time the Hussites started their singing the enemy forces decided basically "HELL NAH" and left the battlefield in a fast fashion also known as tactical retreat or running away

I am not a Hussite myself but I do think Bayram would be respected by the great Jan Žižka and even others if they weren't racist which is sadly unlikely but such is irl history

Can you imagine Bayram leading thousands of Tinebaillese warriors into battle, each one chanting the koro? Imperial army be just like that, “HELL NAH!”

Forgive me if you’ve answered this before, but I went poking and couldn’t find an answer. Is there a specific language or mix of languages that Bayram or Tinnebaille as a whole speak? I threw something he said in a translator this morning and it came back as Turkish? But I’m also aware translators online can be sketchy, at best.

The Tinebaillese language is based on Turkish, yes! Bayram’s name, too, is Turkish. I have a couple Turkish beta readers who have been positively INVALUABLE to me! 🥰

But you don’t have to pop it in Google Translate. Every word and expression Bayram uses can be found in the in-game codex, along with pronunciations. ☺️

Tinebaillese architecture has a little Turkish influence, too. It’s a mix of Ottoman and Iranian aesthetic, as you can see in this post here.

Ah, the requisite beach episode. Gotta have RO reactions to seeing MC in a bathing suit (or the in-world equivalent). 🤭

Maybe? I had planned for Tinebaille to be only one chapter but the amount of stuff I want to fit in is steadily growing, lol. I may stretch it over two.

Good Day Fir, This is kind of a weird ask, and there is a very real chance it isn't something you've even considered once. But it is a question that has been stuck in the back of my mind like a pebble in a shoe. This is about a Trans-female MC and I guess it could be considered NSFW. I don't really believe it to be all that scandalous though. So if you make a trans-female MC you are given the option by Thaleia to take an elixir that is basically the equivalent of Feminizing HRT. While this is not true for all who undergo Feminizing HRT, a common side effect is that it can greatly reduce or completely remove the ability to have biological children. So, my ask is, does the elixir also have that side effect?

And if you don't have an answer for that or aren't comfortable with the question, I have a much more wholesome ask. That being, Would Bayram have spent much time with the Iredicci refugees in Tinebaille? I can see him going around to any settlements they may have and making sure they have everything they need. I can also him being interested in learning about Iredicci culture. In way simialure to Jonah and Thaleia did with MC and Tellus's camp. To me, Bayram comes across as somebody who is very clever and has a extremely keen mind, though he tries to hide it behind a happy go lucky and somewhat himboish persona. I did not know that about HRT; but no, I wouldn’t include that. If the topic of pregnancy or kids comes up, it’ll be in the epilogue, as I did with Viatica. And I wouldn’t put up any barriers to it except your own personal choice.

As to your second question, the short answer is yes. For a long answer, you’ll have to wait because this most certainly comes up in story! 😉
