Tingri Tibet 1997 On the trek to the base of Mt. Everest we were really fortunate to see a herd of Kiang in the distance, these are Tibetan wild asses native to the Tibetan Plateau and are the largest of the wild asses, and could be the inspiration for the mythical unicorn legend. Also noticed, whilst sitting on a small rock to try and catch my breath, these teeny tiny and absolutely gorgeous plants growing in the rocky soil. Sometimes you just need to slow down and see the beauty in nature. Tingri Tibet 1997 We found this lovely sheltered camp in a valley for our second night and put the tent up in one of the enclosures. Woke up the next morning to the sound of goats who had sheltered in the other enclosures. I can only imagine the surprise of the family tending the goats to see some westerners had moved into their enclosure overnight! They were all smiles he next morning though.
