I am the absolute worst at talking to you consistently and I can't thank you enough for being so patient and still so interested in my life, especially since the last year has basically been me being sick. sometimes it's hard to shake the feeling that you're so much more brilliant than I will ever be, but funny enough that's never stopped me from trying. sometimes I still find myself missing you, missing all the quiet things we'd do together and the afternoons at your house, and I hope you're plugging away at school okay. 

whatever happens, I still desperately want to be friends, and I think we will be because it's such a beautiful, low-maintenance intellectual friendship we've got, and we're both too scatterbrained to let these long drops in communication mean anything.
