Bits from last night. I’ve been feeling incredibly stretched thin at work the last two weeks and just needed to make something. Not sure if I’ll keep or peel some of these coasters or repoured the larger pieces but it was nice to have some me time.
Woohoo, got the Tiny Tiles top done! Now I really have to get through my backlog of tops that need quilting. This brings me to three that I intend to do myself. 😬
I debated putting a turquoise border on it but frankly I don't think I have enough grey fabric to do the other side of one and I don't want to buy more.
Got all the blocks for my Tiny Tiles quilt done. I am pretty sure this is going to be one of my Day 1 Bags donations for young people graduating out of foster care in Texas. Because that quilt needs to be bigger than the Tiny Tiles pattern makes, I added a couple of extra rows and added the outer blocks which only have triangles on two corners instead of all four so that I have no partial diamonds at the edges. That way I can add a border if I want/need to without things looking weird.
A lot of the blues here are out of the scrap bin although fewer than I thought given the size of my blue scrap pile. My scrap tends to be true scrap in a lot of ways. Most stuff was less than the 2"x2" I needed for this pattern.
If you're interested in making a donation quilt, the project was 80 quilts short of their pledge goal as of 9/11/23. Quilts need to be 50"x70" minimum and are due by Feb 28, 2024. You can sign up at the Day 1 Bags link. For folks out of Texas, just pick a random region and then your regional coordinator will get with you about shipping.
I was busy today 😏
BOOM! Have some art from earlier tonight
I’m glad I take pictures because the one up top had already migrated and the beautiful green and black but had slid right odd the side 😩😩😩
Still feeling not so creative but the spark is there. I thought it would be about time to test out my newest set of Colourarte pigments and make a couple of Fall themed tests pieces. A couple of tiles later and one repour I’m feeling happy... more tests with the rest of the set to come.
