Movie Night: Indian in the Cupboard
HEY YO ERRYBODY LISSEN UP
(usually I try to do these professionally but tbh I’m excited because this is my FAVE)
So since Anoka picked the movie last time, choosing a fave from her childhood that got her into G/t, I figured I’d do that next, with Indian in the Cupboard (1 movie, 5 books and you should read all of them for real so much great g/t content. those books made me the protective giant i am today)
Let me just fangirl for a sec *ahem*
[sorry that’s so blurry]
not included there is our VHS
I need to draw more IitC
*ahem* and anyway
I’m just really, really excited.
We will be showing Indian in the Cupboard on July 22, 2016.
There will be two showings:
@mythical-cupcake will be showing the early one at 19:00:00
@anoka-kon will be showing the later one at 23:30:00
Synopsis: On his birthday, Omri (Hal Scardino) is given several simple gifts, including an old wooden cupboard and a small plastic figurine of a Native American man. When he locks the toy inside the cabinet it magically comes to life as a tiny, cagey warrior named Little Bear (Litefoot). The boy then places other toys in the cupboard and they too come to life, even engaging in entertaining battles. But after Little Bear is wounded, Omri begins to understand that his animate toys are not mere playthings. PG
Movie Length: 1 hour 38 minutes
Warnings: Guns, violence, death, jumpscare, cussing, sexy dancing in a music video, tinies in peril
G/t Bonuses: Tiny people, handhelds, protective giant and careless giant combo (not as bad as in the books though), archetype of children learning the tinies are not toys but people that must be respected, hiding tinies from other giants, tinies in pockets, tinies in peril
Please Read the G/t Movie Night Rules.
I’m really looking forward to watching this with all of you and I hope you are, too!
Until the movie night:
(and tinies and size shifters uvu <3)
Oh, and it occurred to me: would mouse flicks count as G/t? Movies like The Great Mouse Detective, An American Tale, and Stewart Little have cool size perspectives and creative objects.
Huh. For myself, although they give me size-difference feels, they don’t count in my own personal preference as g/t movies because I’m all about the people, but the furry community crosses over a lot, and even non-furries may like those movies for g/t.
@gt-community what do you think?

I'm personally voting for the newer movie. Although I would like to see the other sometime.

~Tiny-taker
