Exactly.  It could’ve been the worst movie in the history of Hallmark and people would still be freaking out about it.  A lot of people who normally would never watch a Hallmark movie watched it.  I see so many tags on the gifs of people wanting to watch it.  It’s great.     

Laura’s been around for a little while now but her and Aaron was a combo I don’t think anyone would have predicted so that made it even more special and exciting for people especially with Broadway shut down.  It was awesome that Hallmark was able to arrange that.  With things changing behind the scenes, maybe they’ll be able to bring in some more exciting leads.

When Chesapeake Shores was on Netflix, the pilot had an opening scene that was a flashback to when Megan left. Meghan Ory played her character at like age 18, and the rest of the kids were played by younger actors. But that scene has disappeared? It doesn't exist on any of the streams or downloads that I've found, it was only on Netflix. Any idea where I could find that scene again?

Hmm.  I vaguely remember that scene.  It’s really annoying that Hallmark puts out different versions of episodes.  They did that with WCTH too.

I can’t find it in anything that I have.  I wonder if it’s on the DVD version.  I tried to access other countries on Netflix that have Chesapeake Shores but that didn’t work for me.

Anyone else have an idea?

5. If you were to make a your own production of your favorite musical with complete creative rights, what would you change?

If I put on She Loves Me, I might just cut the Maraczek shooting himself thing because it’s tonally SO jarring. And I’d make it abundantly clear that Amalia fucking knows and is forcing Georg’s hand at the end. But like...I adore the show but overall lbr it’s got Problems. Alternatively, I would remount Great Comet except it wouldn’t close. That’s a creative decision, right?And it’s not my fave musical but uhhh gay TL5Y.

7. Hamilton or In the Heights?

Overall writing wise, Hamilton, but ITH has got way more heart.

8. Top three Broadway actors or actresses?

Jeremy Jordan, Laura Osnes, aaaaand honestly I don’t know, I just scrolled through cast albums and there isn’t anyone else I’d go SEVERELY out of my way for like I would (and have) done for those two. Maybe Aaron Tveit? But that seems wrong because he’s barely involved with Broadway these days, he’s just a bucket list performer still.

14. If you were to write a musical, which composer/writer would you like to team up with?

I don’t think I’m creative/weird enough to work with Dave Malloy tbh but probably Dave. Or LMM. Either one I feel like could make a good show out of fucking anything I could bring to the table.

21. Tap dance breaks or 10-second costume changes?

Tap dance breaks, because as impressive as costume changes are, TAP.

24. Top three women-driven musicals?

This is basically a challenge to think of women-driven musicals, considering how much I love musical theatre it also sucks. Fun Home, Waitress, and I guess 9 to 5.

31. Dream cast your favorite musical.

Laura Osnes as Amalia, Santino Fontana as Georg, Annaleigh Ashford as Ilona, tbh still Gavin Creel as Kodaly, and idk for the last few characters.

34. Which Broadway star, from the past or present, would you love to have dinner with?

No one because I would feel too awkward and pressured.

Honestly I love this show with all my heart but what the fuck is up with all of this casting nonsense? I'm so mad about Niall. Half the children are orphans by default because their parents have been cut and now I guess Philip joins them. This isn't a new thing either, it's been a problem since season one and it's honestly just bizarre.

It’s so frustrating.  You grow attached to the characters and the show devotes time to their stories and then they’re just gone.  They never explain anything either.  I don’t get it.  Why bother bringing people in and pairing them with characters who are staying and then giving them them boot?  I thought we were just getting started with a cute little romance for Shane and Faith.  I thought there’d probably be an engagement for Frank and Abigail before too long (not that I wanted that but it would have made sense).  Now what?  Now it’s just like “oh, never mind.”  Great.

It's definitely not just whatever shows are still running. It's technically just Best Musical nominees. Occasionally other shows will do something if there's a special reason, but there's no guarantee or specific reason yet that Anastasia would perform.

Its usually the best musical and musical revival nominees, but occasionally they will get other shows to perform if theres spots available. Since there are 13 new musicals this year I suppose it does kind of make it a special year, they’ll most likely get some of those new musicals to perform as well. I’m guessing Anastasia and The Bandstand are good contenders for that since they were nominated for two Tonys. So no, there is no guarantee, but a very good chance.

my question was, are we actually going to get cute lesbians movies, or is it going to be 'oh the lead straight woman's assitant is a quirky gay man!' type of representation you know? Obviously I'm hoping for the former (I've wanted cute f/f Hallmark movies for YEARS), but they definitely need to get LGBTQ creators in there too to make the movies not be stupid stereotypes.

I think their plan is to have the same dumb movies we know and (mostly) love but with two male leads or two female leads.  I would hope they’re consulting with their LGBTQ talent to come up with some good stories.  Ali Liebert said she wanted a lesbian wedding movie.  Maybe we’ll get it.  Simply having a gay assistant isn’t going to cut it.  I mean, that would be a step in the right direction for sure, but I think they need to just dive in and fully commit.  I think it’s really scary for them though because they’ve always catered towards a certain audience that most likely won’t respond well to change so I get why they never wanted to take those steps before.  Not that that was the right move but it was the easy path for them to take.  That’s why I want to celebrate the small steps they're making already.  It’s big for them.  Any progress is a positive thing given what we normally get from Hallmark.  So while a gay assistant isn’t what we really want, I’ll take it... for now.  

Maybe we’ll see them test the waters with openly gay secondary or background characters in the upcoming movies this year.  I really think their first LGBTQ-led movie will break some ratings records.  It will be the best thing the network has potentially ever done because people have waited for that representation for so long and it’ll create a lot of buzz that will far outweigh the negative response that it’ll surely get from the conservative moms of the world.

Oh for sure.  And to not make announcements about it is super annoying too.  Put something up on the website saying the movie has been rescheduled so it’s easy to see when someone goes looking instead of just removing it from everything.

It’s like when they moved In The Key of Love to Hallmark Movies Now instead.  I think we found out from the writer of the movie or someone like that on Instagram, not Hallmark.  It’s really frustrating.  Hallmark has never been a great network for stuff like this.  I was hoping now that Bill was out that maybe it would be run a little differently but it’s just more of the same crap.

My best guess is they’re trying to save some new content to air later on since they haven’t been able to film and probably won’t be able to for a while... and when they do, the focus is Christmas.  I’m assuming they have the Good Witch halloween movie done so maybe they can air Country Heart with that to have a mini Fall Harvest event to get back to some normalcy.  I could see that scenario playing out.  We’ll just have to see.  It’s pretty ridiculous though.  A lot of people excited for the movie will be in for a surprise come Saturday night when it’s not on.
