Oooh! Okay, friendship edition! Thank you for asking this, I love this!

There are several favorite friendships with Shaw first was with Michael Cole, the one that started it all.  I’ve built this whole AU story in my head where Cole survived and it made Shaw’s integration to the team all the harder because they’ve become a Team of Two, and Cole’s become paralyzed and bitter because his own government betrayed him when he was only trying to do the right thing, and both Shaw and Cole develop a deep distrust for everyone but eventually they do come into the Team Machine fold but they come as a package deal. Also, it’s fun to imagine Root trying to win Cole over just so she could win Shaw over.

TLDR they become awesome best friends. 

The other favorite friendship with Shaw is Fusco and as @netgirl-y2k put it:

I like to imagine Shaw's horrified realisation, after they've been working the numbers together for a while, that not only has she become the sort of person who has a best friend, but that it's Lionel Fusco.

And that is exactly my jam!

Who I will protect at all costs: In universe it would probably be Aang because he’s a precious child who shouldn’t be made to deal with this stuff. But from the fandom I would protect Katara, Katara hate makes my blood pressure explode.

Who deserves better: Azula. Honestly she might be sadistic and not a very nice person but honestly that girl had no chance as soon as Ozai chose his favorite and Iroh chose to protect only one of his brother’s children.

Who was killed off too early: idk maybe Princess Yue? 

Who I used to hate but now I love: Probably Hama. She’s such a complicated and deeply hurt character, and when I was younger it was easy to see the monster she became instead of the victim of the Fire Nation she still was even then.

Who I used to love but now I hate: There’s no one that really stand out.

Who needs to be killed off asap: It seems too easy to say Ozai, but… Ozai.

Who is unfairly hated: Katara. I hate it when people try to paint her as a “selfish person” who holds “unfair grudges” when she’s anything but and those grudges are completely justified thank you.

Who is unfairly loved: don’t really know, maybe Uncle Iroh? I mean that’s not entirely true, because I really love him too but he’s not exactly as pure as some people make him out to be. I don’t know how to explain what I mean very well here, he’s just… he’s a good uncle to Zuko (though he did make mistakes) but not to Azula. And he’s done his best to become a good person, but he WAS the Dragon of the West once and that has certain implications

Who needs to sort out their priorities: ‘Sorry Aang. I love you, but I sometimes did want to shake you.’

Who needs a hug: Oh god… everyone. Iroh needed a hug during that scene with the song. Aang needed lots of hugs every time he went near an Air Temple. Zuko needed hugs basically always. Katara needed hugs throughout the Southern Raiders episode. I’d give Azula a hug if it wouldn’t get me killed (more likely I’d send Ty Lee). Sokka could use some hugs. Honestly the only one who I think is okay is Toph.

Who needs to get out of their current relationship: that… is such a dangerous question to ask me a Zutara supporter. I plead the fifth.

Who the writers love: Actually they were pretty good with sharing the love, but probably Aang (which is fine, he was the main character).

Who needs a better storyline: I loved all their storylines. Wait no, they could have done more for Mai.

Who has an amazing redemption arc: I mean… c’mon. Zuko. Obviously Zuko. He’s like the one former villain who’s redemption ark didn’t once annoy or irritate me. 

Who is hot af: That is such a weird question to answer about a children’s cartoon with a bunch of teenagers for characters. I choose to go forward in time and say Asami.

Who belongs in jail: I’m saying Ozai again and you can’t stop me.

Who needs to be revived from the dead: Kya. The best mom. [edit: also Avatar Kyoshi]
