Finished! #GreatGrayOwl In Flight, graphite on paper, 2019. Week 2 of the project is complete - only 86 more days to go! This was an unexpected project - I didn't expect to finish a drawing. Next week I'll transfer this onto watercolor paper and paint him! I don't know if it's because we're at the tail end of winter or something else, but I have felt myself sliding into a creative slump. So to shake things up I've decided to participate in The 100 Day Project here on Instagram., which kicks off today. My project is to illustrate owls because I love those creatures, and I want to improve my wildlife drawing/painting skills. So here's the plan: Monday thru Thursday, I work in my sketchbook working out ideas and such; Friday thru Sunday I paint. I'll add progress photos here and post the finished piece at the end of the week (Sunday).
