Past Tense

Nothing will ever hurt as much as when I heard her whispered confession behind me and then turn to leave with loud footsteps.

Past tense ruins lives and whispers crush souls.

Don’t and Won’t

Don’t let them tell you that your love is difficult that you are difficult that your love was never worth it

Don’t let them tell you that they were never yours that you will never be good enough that your love was meaningless

Don’t let them ruin you girl with wild eyes and crazy hair you are the essence of love of the fever of the thrill of the purest of magic.

You are untamable Your love is true You’re complex and lovely You are never meant to be theirs.

A Love Lost

There was a type of thrill that left me wanting to swim in the ocean during a thunderstorm. Although, that seemed to be more tame than admitting I was wrong to you and having makeup sex against the window facing the street. ‘Wild Days’ I called them.

If this needed a title I’d come up with one

Tragedy makes you grow faster

but that doesn’t make it necessary

to be in your life forever

or necessary to haunt you

every which way you turn

and haunt you in your sleep

and

it may be in every romance novel you read

but it doesn’t have to be

present in your love story

for your adventure to be

an epic tale of seeking one’s greatest desires.
