Useful Stuff: Baby Cubes
It’s Christmas and we’d like to show our appreciation through a giveaway! All you have to do is like our Facebook page and SHARE any post from the blog on your Facebook! To find out what you can win just by doing this, check it out here!
I’m sure you’ve seen these. Perhaps your friend is using them or you’ve seen them at the baby shop.
Presenting…Baby Cubes - my not-so-new discovery! I received my first Baby Cubes as a gift and since then, have been quite hooked on them.
What are Baby Cubes?
Baby Cubes are containers meant for small individual snacks, freezing homemade baby food or storing & transporting breast milk.
I found some really useful information on Baby Cubes’ official website on the tests that they’ve run on Baby Cubes just to prove that they’re baby-safe. Here’s what the website claims:
Baby Cubes are made of a non toxic Polypropylene Virgin raw material We do not even accept Recycled Polypropylene in the fabrication of The Baby Cubes. It must be of a Virgin Raw Polypropylene so that we can be certain of the highest quality.
As a result Baby Cubes are:
- BPA Free, Phthalates free and Lead free - Non-toxic - Microwave safe - Dishwasher safe - Freezer safe
What’s great about Baby Cubes?
1. The lid stays on
I use the 2 ounce Baby Cubes to store Baby Dozer’s small snacks. If you have a baby, you’d know how it is like when feeding tiny snacks AND you don’t want them to make a mess. You hand them the container, they pick a snack out, you close the container and wait for them to finish it before offering them another snack. With the lid attached to the container, it makes it really easy to quickly open and close the container.
2. Stackable
Recently, I’ve been using bottles to store my breastmilk instead of milk storage bags. The problem with bottles is that you can’t stack them but with Baby Cubes, you can store your 4 ounces of breastmilk AND stack them neatly too AND label them with erasable marker pen! I’m a stickler for organised home living, and that includes my fridge. So, you can understand why I am all for Baby Cubes.
3. Versatile
Besides breastmilk, I use the Baby Cubes primarily to store snacks for outings. The 2-ounce containers are perfect because they are tiny and don’t take up too much space in my bag. Additionally, I’ve got a baby who can never stop snacking once he starts, so what I do is to limit the amount of snacks I place in his snack container. Once he sees the container empty, he will obediently hand the container back to me. So, 2-ounce containers are my strategy in preventing excessive snacking!
4. Affordable
At MYR 29.90, I think it is fairly reasonable or something that looks decent and helps my home look organised.

Useful Stuff: Zoobies Travel Companion
Yet another one of my amazing finds recently is something called Zoobies. For those who follow my blog, you will know that Baby Dozer and I recently returned from a trip to Bali. Packing for a baby is no easy task and that’s when Tiny Tapir suggested that I bring along the Zoobies. They did such a great job in promoting this product to me, that I decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I did.
Here’s why:
This is a Zoobie. From the outside, it looks like a nomal soft toy but it’s actually more than that.
Tadaa! Tucked INSIDE the bunny is a very soft and warm blanket. Initially, I thought that I’d only be able to use the blanket on the airplane because I don’t prefer putting an airplane blanket on Baby Dozer. After all, who needs blankets in Bali - it’s going to be hot!
Well, as it turned out, Bali is COLD in August. The night wind is especially strong, and staying in Nusa Dua which is the tip of Bali island meant that we were especially close to the sea. Even the adults had to wear a light jacket after sunset and that’s when I was so thankful I had the Zoobie.
This wonderful blanket can either be used attached to the bunny or detached from it.

That’s not all! The Zoobie not only doubles up as a soft toy AND blanket, it TRIPLES up as a pillow too. Admittedly, Baby Dozer sleeps all over his cot so much such that the pillow ends up becoming more of his soft toy, but it’ll definitely be a lot handier later on.
Baby Dozer and Zoobies in Bali. Spot his GroVia cloth diaper peeking out and I used a BioSoaker (disposable insert) with the cloth diaper on the trip. Read about what I think of the GroVia cloth diaper here and why I use cloth diapers here.
After using the Zoobies on the Bali trip, I find it so useful such that I bring it along when we go on outings. Baby Dozer simply loves hugging it in his stroller and when he takes naps, I drape the blanket over him.

The Zoobies come in different sizes and there are different animals. Go check out Tiny Tapir’s official website to see the other animals! I have to say this is one of the most ingenious children creations I’ve ever come across and a very practical and useful one too!
Here are some of my other favourite Zoobies:
Baby Jafaru the Giraffe
Bubba the Black Bear
Hada Hippo
According to the official Zoobies website here, the Zoobies brand and concepts were created by 2 young brothers who shared a common desire to invent something that was fun, innovative and functional. These 2 brothers who come from a family of 9 wanted to also make life easier for Mum! Well, I have to say they scored on this one!
Thank you, Zoobies and thank you, Tiny Tapir for bringing in this product from the USA!
