Our local museum is a treasure throve of history. For our ceramics elective we were asked to visit 'Made of Clay' exhibition running currently in the Hunt Museum.

Out of all the artifacts I was attracted to this Raqqa style bowl an original of Syrian pottery.

I made my own version by throwing clay on the wheel and then using one glaze by dipping the bowl into it to style it similarly to the Raqqa bowl.

Ha ha! I have found a metal box the appropriate size! 😁 I am one step closer to making my charcoal. Now I just need a metal coat hanger and some softwood and some hardwood. I could use a metal brazier or a barbecue pit for the heating process, but I think I will just clear some space and make a brick fire pit.
