I watched the Livestream of "The Importance of being Earnest" a few days ago and truly, the whole play could've been avoided if my guy jack hadn't acted like his OC Ernest to a bunch of people in the city that didn't know him

Like really, he told the people in the countryside that he was visiting his brother Ernest in town, and once he got to town he pretended to be him. No one forced him to go that, it was a choice

Chapter 6 Summary  

Eris prepares for a difficult afternoon of righting some wrongs – some of which he wasn’t even instrumental in causing! How will he get out of this mess with Elain? Who is the mysterious “reverend”? And most importantly of all, how do I manage to shoehorn the all-important handbag from The Importance of Being Earnest into the plot?

Fic Summary

Charm, style, speedy proposals and a villainous reputation… Eris Vanserra would be the perfect main character in an Oscar Wilde drawing room comedy. So now he is one.

In a Prythian re-imagined as Victorian England, Eris is enjoying a life of leisure as temporary steward of the Spring Court. That is, until a letter from the Night Court threatens to reveal a very delicate secret…

Brace yourself for Wilde-style tropes such as: double lives, mistaken identity, unnecessary flirtation, attempts at wit, overuse of adverbs, unforgivable idiocy, inept clergymen, backstage debauchery, comedic misunderstandings, convenient couplings, soft everyone, and a handbag.

watching the importance of being earnest on yt, going in with absolutely no knowledge about what it's about, and i was like. "huh. wonder why the title's like that. it's probably really emotional or something". totally not prepared for two guys wanting to get a christening to become Earnest so that a lady would love them. i dig it though
