TIP 30 | 3 things that made me happy this past week.
It's been a while so I'm going to change this to 3 things that made me happy this week.
1. I won Associate of the Month at work! I was recognized for my efficiency, creativity, and quality of work I put out. It's an amazing feeling to finally be rewarded for something I love doing. The prizes are awesome too, a reserved parking spot in the manager's lot, $100, and picture in our cafeteria for a whole year!
2. I finalized the Autumn/Winter Archaic Press issue last night! There were a lot of bumps int he road for this season, but we got it done! Cheers to another issue in the stands, hopefully we can create even better work next time.
3. Vinted.com is creating an online magazine, and I got hired to be one of the designers! It's an honor to design for a site that has helped me so much. Can't wait to tell Vinted's story in a creative visual way!
3 things that made me happy today
1. one of my coworkers is finally moving out of her parents house. she’s been searching for the right apartment, and today she closed the deal on a property really close the beach. the price was a steal! seeing her just be all happy and carry on her happiness throughout the day made me happy... and also motivated to work my ass off in order to move out lol
2. my boss came back from a meeting and gave me a churro and this super yummy apple pie pastry. You know when you taste something so good that you say “mmmm” outloud even if no one’s there? That’s how amazing those pastries were.
3. destination got a new hotel added to its portfolio. it’s in san francisco, and i’m so glad we have a property there now! can’t wait to use that associate rate.
3 things that made me happy today
1. got my eyebrows done today, it’s been over three weeks! I finally found time to go. plus my frequent customer card was filled up so it was free! of course i tipped though, she did a flawless job again.
2. we received proofs for our summer brochure at work today, it’s amazing finally seeing your project printed and ready to be produced. months and months of planning, designing, and editing was worth it!
3. one of our clients brought macarons to our meeting, they were simply amazing. i got to take the raspberry and chocolate with caramel in the center. yummy!
3 things that made me happy today
1. today i visited a farmer’s market! I got some pita bread + dips, candy cakes, and kettle corn. tried some samples of various foods too. i wish i had all the money in the world to support these local vendors. they were all very nice people and props to them for working hard.
2. my mom went out at 9pm to go buy me medicine for my cough. she didn’t have to, i’m totally capable of buying it myself, but of course she’s still in mom mode.
3. target dollar section, you kill me with all your cute new diy crafting stuff! i bought some chalkboard paper, new tags, and twine for a dollar each. such a freakin steal
3 THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY TODAY
1. it was strange, yesterday we were talking about ikea's swedish meatballs at lunch, and today they served swedish meatballs. i can't complain, they were delicious.
2. i finally set up my desk with a 24" monitor connected to my macbook, i can finally start designing properly. when i started working in an office, they gave me dual monitors and when i got home it was really hard to work on a tiny laptop screen. thanks to my boyfriend for doing the research!
3. my sister's boyfriend's puppy has a cast on one of its legs. its sad, but it was adorable!
ps: i wan't to start doing this again, i need it.
Day 30 | 3 things that made me happy today
1. Got my eyebrows done today, and decided to stop by Roadium Open Air Market cause it was just a street over. There was a booth with a TON of jewelry, I'm not joking, tubs full. Each piece was only $1, I spent half an hour digging, even if it was windy, and my hair was getting in my face. I got 10 necklaces and feather bands, totaling $10, and if you saw my picture on ig or on here earlier, you can see how much of a steal that is. I love swap meets!
2. I took Shamu to Averill park today to get him used to not being leashed. I ran up a steep hill, and it was so funny watching him behind be struggling. The geese were so loud, that Shamu was afraid to chase them. I wish I lived right across the street from that park, it's so serene.
3. My boyfriend accepted his job offer from County of LA Public Works. I'm very proud of him! He was on the fence with his offers, going back and forth, but his decision was wise, I don't think he'll regret it.
Day 26,27,28,29? | 3 things that made me happy today
I'm really behind on this! So much has happened, I totally forgot to write these up.
1. I finally got to see my niece Cailyn in person for the first time. She is so adorable! Cute little outfits, almond shaped eyes, super soft hands that grab on to your finger, she is perfect. Dianne and Jason are gonna be great parents. Wow, I'm an aunt, I feel so old.
2. I had my second interview with three dots yesterday, and it went well! The first thing she said, even before the handshake was "I love your outfit" and that means a lot coming from a manager of a fashion company. She introduced me to some key people in the company and gave me an appreciation gift. An hour after the e-commerce manager sends me an email saying that they were impressed with my abilities to pick up the current brand image and giving them multiple options for designs. I'll know if I got it or not by the end of the week.
3. After the interview, doing errands, and some magazine work, I crashed my boyfriend's class, and it's funny to see him in a different environment. It makes me miss school a lot for some reason. Just spending time with him, wherever it may be, makes me happy. Today we went on a long walk with Jackson and decided to walk more to buy dinner. It was nice not to drive for once; you know to take it slow, and talk about real life things.
