~How To Draw Feet~
A tutorial for comic artists.
So, I don’t know all that much about anatomy/draw it correctly most of the time, so I was hoping for any tips on this quick figure sketch thing! Any constructive criticism is welcome!
The single most important thing I ever did for myself was stop striving for greatness. I used to think, "I want to be the best. I need to make something truly amazing, something truly profound. A performance, a line of music, a perfect love scene that will leave my audiences speechless. I want to make something that stays with people, just like my favorite actors, artists, writers, make things that stay with me." But the thing is, people have built-in bullshit detectors, and very good ones, too. They know the difference between someone TRYING to be great and someone simply BEING great. They know when you are trying to impress, and when you are just trying to do what you need to do to express your art. They know when your product is forced, and when it is not. I decided to stop trying, and to start being, and have never looked back.
my own head, because sometimes I do some things and really like them
Have you ever saw someone's art and thought 'damn that's good' or 'I wish I could draw like that' or some other thing like that?
Well, you can.
>Try to expose yourself to different art styles. A good way to perfect your own art style is to take different things from other peoples' styles. And no, I don't mean plagiarize the person's work.
>Really this is a way to get better at anything, but practice! Becoming more familiar with your art is made much easier by simply doing it many times. While practicing, you might also realize that you start using some aspects of other people's styles until you eventually coin a style of your own. Some things are tricky like for me, hands and feet can be a huge pain. So, drawing them often has helped me improve.
>Doodle whenever possible. Personally, I'm still in school, so I normally have time to doodle everywhere. Even over the summer, I'll sometimes take the time to just doodle some things that pop into my head. Sometimes these doodles turn into complete drawings, or even just concepts of future drawings. Also, sometimes these doodles make good practice. I often doodle different kinds of eyes, and because of that my style for eyes has changed many times.
I hope you found these few tips helpful! :D
