Good morning everyone! I spent the weekend going through my to-do list. Since Iâm pretty new to this whole studylr thing, it can be a little intimidating figuring out what to post and how to do it in between work and study. So I decided the best way to start would be by organizing my post schedule.Â
Dividing my post schedule around my study schedule was the most efficient way for me to divide the work. I split my days into categories, which would then be the basis for sorting out my posts. Thus far, my schedule is as follows:Â
Monday: To-do lists, scheduling planning, etc.
Tuesday: Language and Re-blogs
Wednesday: Study Notes
Thursday: âLearning Literature in Kuwaitâ Posts
Friday: Books, Reading Lists, and Reviews
Saturday/Sunday: College applications, writing practice, essay topics, test out new apps, etc.Â
I might have to modify my schedule as I go along, but for now this works best for me. It gives me plenty of time to queue up my posts over the whole week and edit them out over the weekend so that they can be posted next week. Iâve already started following my schedule with this first post. Hopefully I can follow through for this month. Iâll keep you posted on how it goes or if I modify my schedule along the way.Â

Breed what you want. Thereâs a market for everything and youâll be surprised what gets bought.Â
Donât get upset if a dragon doesnât get bought and youâre running out of space. You can always breed again.Â
Exalted Unnamed happens. Please donât feel bad over this. Dominance Pushes are aggressive and some people buy and exalt like no oneâs business during the last leg and every second counts.Â
You will find RP lairs with Dark or Nasty lore. Donât make a fuss. Just ignore them and go on with your day or stay and have a nice read. Are the players being edgy? Maybe. Not your place to tell them that it makes you personally uncomfortable because you can always leave and never go back.Â
Thereâs bad members in every flight. They do not Represent that Flight.Â
Please keep in mind that players on FR range from Middle School Ages to Parents with kids in their teens.Â
Donât talk smack about someone if you havenât spoken to length with them. Context and Information is important.
Your experience on FR is mostly on you. No one can come in and ruin your time if donât let them. EDIT (because Iâve seen complaints about this point) This does mean youâre not allowed to feel bad if someone does give you a hard time. thatâs unrealistic. Of course you can feel bad and you have every right to. But that does not mean Flight Rising becomes unenjoyable from that alone. You can make this a good online experience much like how people can make this a bad one. You can choose to fight or not or choose to interact peacefully or not. Much like how others who may interact with you will make those same choices. But just because someone interacts with you in a negative way doesnât mean you are obligated to interact with them in the same way if even at all. Remember, this is an online game. You can create your own space, have your own circle, be as closed or as open as you want to, and you can leave your device to take a break from it. There are more people on Flight Rising who want to have a good experience with you and help you through a tough time and you need to make the decision to also have a good experience and be solid with other players.Â
If someone has come around to try to ruin your day, ignore them. Do not engage. Itâs not worth it. Sure you want to give them a good tongue lash or say âleave me aloneâ, but they most likely wont once you engage. Itâs sad but true. Some people donât know boundaries.Â
Tips from Other Users
Iâd just like to add that if you find a lair/ dragons with really graphically violent/ sexual lore, you can report them via a contact us. People as young as 13 (and younger, Iâm sure) play the game and exposing them to that kind of stuff isnât okay. Remember, if you couldnât post it on the forums without getting banned/ suspended or if you couldnât put it into a movie with a PG-13 rating, it doesnât go on-site. (by Dorkanoora)

All of these are good points! Iâd like to add a little thing I tend to do, if I sell hatchlings, I name them beforehand. If people want them as lore/breeding/anything other than exalting dragons they will often be prepared to spend a renaming scroll on them (Iâd even be willing to provide one for them!) and if someone buys them as fodder, they wonât usually bother changing the name, so if you really donât want unnamed exalted offspring, thereâs that! To add to the unnamed thing, some dragons are exalted unnamed for lore reasons! Dome are exalted accidentally, some are exalted because they werenât the right color/gender/genes/etc (By Juba)Â
Also a very important thing that newbies need to know because not everyone observs it: Exalting is not a bad thing, it is positive by the siteâs canon lore and by definition, do not feel sad that they are going away.

Donât be afraid to ask for help! Ask tumblr! Browse around your flightâs forums - I guarantee there will be topics with oldbies lending a hand to newbies! (earth is doing it atm with the bigrock/pebble program) - Donât be afraid to PM someone in your flight and ask questions! Especially if theyâre open and friendly in their bio. If drama is really not your thing, my advice is to steer clear of organised Dominance events. Typically these are any threads in the private Flight forums that begin with [DOM] or some variant thereof. (Specifically really big advertised pushes between âcompetingâ Flights; ie, Shadow v Light, Nature v Plague, First Four, Battle Royale, etc.) Especially true if you have anxiety to any extent. Contribute to the events if you want, support the Flights you like, but sometimes the competitive nature turns sour and itâs best to just avoid it.

if you DO get into dragon drama like some people who cant keep their mouth shut (me), realize that its no big deal. there WILL be people you wont get along with. there WILL be people who take this shit way too seriously and act like the fate of the world is dependent on this dragon site. best thing you can do is justâŚcare less than them. take a chill pill and sit back and watch them embarrass themselves in front of the tag. stay calm in âfightsâ. Follow the right people on tumblr and youâll have a ton of fun and get a lot of great interactions, pay attention to the review blogs so you donât get scammed.
If you are squeamish then keep in mind that tumblr is where the dark lore is SUPPOSED to be posted so just donât follow those people.
Fr smut is the tag for dragon porn. It exists, please keep it out of the main tag(s), browse or avoid as needed
If you are going to get into drama for the love of gladekeeper do your research. Donât believe one person without logs or screenshots. Iâve seen entirely too many people leaping into drama without knowing everything and people get attacked unnecessarily.(by lizziecat1279 )Â
If anyone else has anything to tack on, please do. Itâs sad when players cry that the community is awful when a majority of players are incredibly nice and giving. Thereâs a lot that can be avoided if people pick their battles.Â
If you want a non-limited item (underbelly scroll, common apparel etc), don't buy it unless you have twice as much treasure as needed. That way you won't be completely broke when you get it. (Suggested by LadyEms.)
Remind yourself each space in your lair is worth 80K. So before you buy a dragon on impulse because you think it's a steal, ask yourself if it's worth 80K to you or at the very least, if you can sell it for what you paid.
Wait until your flight has dom to buy apparel/genes from the MP. Or at least go to the Items for Sale forum and buy them through someone offering a dom discount shop (it's polite to tip them though so you'll do better waiting until you have dom).
Don't buy stuff from the AH. Or if it's only available in the AH, PM the seller and ask if they offer a discount for CRs. The AH fees would eat part of the price anyway so they won't lose much treasure by giving you a discount and they know it's a guaranteed sale.
Shop in the Items for Sale forum. A lot of the time, you can trade materials and apparel for other materials/apparel.
Be really, really picky about the dragons you buy. For example, I won't buy one unless the eye color is harmonious. That saves me from a lot of impulse buys.
Don't gene up cheap dragons you already have. Hang onto them and then find clones/near matches on the AH with the genes you want. Buy that one, then level+exalt the original. (Unless we're talking something like a coatl where buying a replacement would be more expensive than buying a gene scroll).Â
Always do the math if you want to buy something in gems off the AH. Usually selling your gems and then buying with treasure will be much cheaper.
Breed your own exalt fodder instead of buying it. Even if you exalt them as hatchlings, that's still 2K you didn't have before.
If you have a friend whom you trust, send them treasure via PMs. The treasure disappears from your account the moment you send the PM but doesn't get added to their account unless they take the money from the PM, so they can't accidentally spend the treasure as long as they leave the PMs alone. Stryderling and I do this a lot in lieu of a bank system.
