Wen Ning please!!

How I feel about this character: Wen Ning, precious cinnamon roll, he didn't deserve to become a Fierce Corpse, I will fight anyone who tries to hurt him!

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I kinda ship him as an OT3 with Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian. Otherwise, in AUs where Qin Su survived, with her.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Lan Sizhui. He needs some family, poor baby!

My unpopular opinion about this character: I have no unpopular opinions about Wen Ning, he deserves the world.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish he had found a partner willing to accept him as he was.

I’ll keep that in mind! It did strike me as the kind of series that really develops as it goes, so I already requested it from my library, haha. Mostly I think I’ve just seen so much about it online that I’m impatient for things to get rolling.

Summary: For the sake of his family, Dean agrees to marry an angel he's never seen. He's not expecting true love, nor to uncover the mystery behind why the angels are taking husbands in the first place. But sometimes in marriage, the unexpected happens.

Comments: 8/10. This is arranged marriage, but they fall in love immediately and they don’t have the dynamic of master/slave that other angel husbands have, which is cool. This is much more than an arranged marriage fic though, they discover the conspiracy behind why angels are taking husbands, and they take part in the largest angelic showdown ever. WARNINGS: dub-con and sexual slavery-esque marriage in other angel-human couples, not between Cas and Dean. It’s really hard to describe this fic. However I probably wouldn’t read this if you were just looking for an arranged marriage fic, cuz the conflicts that come with arranged marriage fics are either nonexistent or resolved pretty quickly in this fic. The majority of this fic is completing quests to fulfill a prophecy to uncover the conspiracy. SPOILERS: it’s Michael and Lucifer in Dean and Sam, but they win and drive all angels out of the world END SPOILER.

I think there’s a difference between romanticizing it in a story and stating that it’s normal behavior in real life. My stories didn’t harp on and on about how unhealthy the relationship was; they imagined a world and a situation in which the relationship could work. Because exploring that was interesting to me. If that makes me a fetishist or whatever, I suppose it doesn’t matter; but I’m just sad to see this sentiment from you, ostensibly about me.

It is what it is. Stories do not have to harp on a subject for the point to be clear. Gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. Granted, I do not think you are actually the mindset group initially being discussed, but I do not agree that it’s okay to normalize what is unhealthy behavior. You exploring it in fiction? You do you. I respectfully disagree. The actual topic is that these people not only romanticize and sexualize the subject in fiction for their erotic desires, but in fanart, and then push it as part of “love is love” argument and that incest is part of the LGBT and should be normalized outside of fiction. Which it is not and should not be.
