Push It just came on the radio and I had so many Caries feels.
I'm in a post-Melody funk.
How To Be Perfect and Fabulous: starring Melody and Alys
8 days until I get to see my best friend.
You guys. 8 DAYS! And then I get to hug Melody and smother her with my love.
A good video. And I'm really only posting it because I want Melody to watch it and laugh.
Actually, I just tried with every technique I know and the equations don't line up. As in, they don't result in the same x and y values. Are you sure you copied them down correctly?
Yes, I copied them down correctly. And that answer that you gave me in the submission isn’t the answer in the back of the book.
x is somehow supposed to be 3 and y is supposed to be 5. I just have no clue how to get there because every time I’ve tried, one or both comes out as a fraction.
Thanks anyway. I’ll probably just ask the teacher on Monday.
Thank you! And do you mind if I ask you another English question? I'm trying to phrase my sentence so that it says "the societal view of minorities and prejudice against them" but to save words, I changed it to "the societal view of and prejudice against minorities." Is splitting the prepositional phrase "of minorities" not allowed like that?
Not a problem! I’m always glad to help with English-related questions. It is my major, after all! :P
Now, I could probably give you a better answer if I knew the whole sentence and the context of it, but from what I see, you really only need commas and to change a couple of words. The best way to phrase that sentence is likely as such:
”[…] the societal views of, and the prejudices against, minorities.”
This makes it clear to your reader that you are speaking of two different topics that stem from the same major topic. Without the commas, it may feel like a run-on sentence to many different readers. Also, unless you’re speaking of a certain person’s societal view and a certain person’s prejudice against minority groups, “views” and “prejudices” should be in the plural form.
