Tissue Cozy

Es geht mit großen Schritten weiter auf Weihnachten zu und hier das nächste fertige Weihnachtsgeschenk! Wer kennt das nicht? Die kalte Jahreszeit. Draußen ist es ungemütlich und Taschentücher haben Hochkonjungtur (^_^) Aber diese Plastickverpackungen um die Taschentücher herum sind doch alles andere als schön. Hier habe ich eine Lösung für euch!!! Eine wunderschöne neue Verpackung für eure Taschentücher!! Eine Anleitung dazu findet ihr hier. Ich habe es ein bisschen abgewandelt und ein anderes Häkelmuster gewählt. Für meine Version habe ich den Sternstich als Muster gehäkelt. Hier eine Anleitung zu dem Häkelstich. Die Anleitung zu der Blume habe ich aus dieser Anleitung hier. Nadel: 4mm (3mm für die Blume) Garn: Rico Essentials Cotton DK (00 bordeaux, 19 altrose) Für die erste Reihe habe ich 33 Luftmaschen angeschlagen, damit das mit dem Muster hinterher noch in der Länge passt. Leider habe ich erst nach Fertigstellung Bilder gemacht, also habe ich leider keine Bilder während der Entstehung gemacht. Da ich aber vor habe in der näschten Zeit noch so ein Täschen zu häkeln, werde ich diese Bilder später hier nachfügen.

Travel tissue cozy

If necessity is the mother of invention, then annoyance is the mother of pattern finding. Also, I tend to need some sort of creative outlet during finals in between grading and writing. Hence, the travel tissue cozy. I'm getting over a cold, and I had been stuffing those plastic tissue pouches in my bag, and going through them pretty quickly. I wanted to fight the markup, and have something fun, in the process.

In walks this tissue pouch pattern from Ravelry. I bought a ball of Sugar'n Cream (100% cotton), and got to work with an H hook (though the pattern calls for G). The pattern is more of a template than a strict pattern, which I liked for this project. I got lucky, and the self-striping pattern nicely self-striped, too! My flap's a bit longer than advised, but I wanted it that way. I decided to add a button, which involved lots of experimenting (and a back-button washer-type-thing). One of these days, I'm going to get better at the non-crocheting parts of projects.

I really like this tissue cozy--I folded up a dozen or so tissues, and it's neatly full. I'll be able to throw this in the wash, too, though I won't put it in the dryer because I like it this size. I sort of want to make these for everyone I know...
