It is not x reader if you describe the readers fucking key features.

“As he gazed into your blue eyes…” I have brown eyes.

“You’re pale porcelain skin.” I’m black

“Your hair was a mess but you were late so you put it in a messy bun and ran out the house.” I have short ass dread locs.

Genuinely I’m getting sick of this shit. It’s sad that POC creators have to make their own fanfics and specify it’s only for POC because anything else uses specific attributes that usually only a white person could have. It’s such a fucking turn off to read a good fucking story and then for some reason the author has to fuck it up by adding “your silky hair.” Like wtf is happening? If you have a person in mind then you can make it a character x oc that’s okay! But it is NOT x reader when you’re literally turning us into something that’s not even us. Like do some of yall not realize white peoples are not the only ones reading this shit? Ik many ppl have addressed this but some ppl rlly aren’t changing and it’s just so odd to me. If u want to specify how the “reader” looks. Do everyone a favor and just say it’s an OC there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not fair to people. And it’s not even just about POC. Just in general. Like imagine a brunette reading that shit and it says “your beautiful blonde hair” like???? It’s not fair, it’s just weird. It’s not x reader, it’s x oc and seriously that’s okay!

Another thing is posting shit on the wrong hashtag just to try and get more likes.

Okay this happens way too often and needs to be talked about way more.

When I go on a certain hashtag like Natasha Romanoff x reader why the hell am I seeing a Bucky fic? And it’s not even like Bucky x Natasha x reader. It’s flat out just Bucky. I get people want their shit to be seen but that’s literally tagbaiting. I’m going on a certain hashtag to see that certain shit. I don’t want to go on a Joel miller hashtag and only see Tommy. That makes zero sense. If you want your posts to be seen, I promise you reblog works. But putting other hashtags that have NOTHING TO DO with your fic or post is getting ridiculous. It just doesn’t make sense to me why people think that’s cute. Just put the hashtags that actually correlate with your post. That’s all you have to do.

Hopefully this doesn't anger YOU(idc who else has a problem) but I genuinely feel like the authors who have been writing for months to years and STILL use white leaning characteristics either are in denial that they wanted to write OC or are just racist.

And even with characteristics I'm general, ppl need to tag that too. Ngl I do usually imagine myself as an OC when reading but it's always weird when certain characteristics are brought up, big or small.

Irl I'm a short, kinda skinny girl, but imagine how irritating it is for the thick or tall ppl. Like no. That character CANNOT tower over them.

YESSS AND DW this definitely did not anger me because it’s SO REAL.

Like I get new writers are still getting the hang of it. But people who have been writing for a long ass time. Wtf is going on????
