UFC 256 results, highlights: Charles Oliveira takes apart Tony Ferguson, inches closer to title shot

Oliveira (30-8, 1 NC) nearly submitted Tony Ferguson (25-5) in a dominant first round and went on to dismantle one of the sport's top pound-for-pound best fighters in a unanimous decision. Monday October 10, 2016; just hours after WWE SmackDown!’s No Mercy ends will be New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) King of Pro Wrestling.  The video above is the package for the G1 Climax 26 Finals rematch between Hirooki Goto and Kenny Omega.  This match though may be wrestled under protest as Omega did not accept Goto’s challenge back on September 22nd and everyone can see why Kenny didn’t want this match.  

Every time Hirooki would vie for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, he has come so close to winning the title only to lose it in the end.  Would winning the contract from Kenny on Monday morning (in Eastern time) finally make Hirooki Goto a main-eventer to the point that he could become IWGP Heavyweight Champion?  Believe it or not, I’m comparing this match to the WWE Intercontinental Championship match which will be happening just hours before in Sacramento where The Miz will defend against Dolph Ziggler.  Like Ziggler, I don’t think Hirooki can win the big one even if he can somehow win the contract from Omega. 

So the question now stands...will Goto get his one final shot at a championship match or is it over for him?  This question will be answered when these two go at it again on October 10th at the Ryogoku Sumo Hall in only their second match against each other.
