So last weekend I was at T in the park… Here’s my daily (and brief) run downs of who I seen and my rating out of 5!
SATURDAY Spring King 3.5 out of 5 I seen these guys in February at broadcast and they smashed it! This time as it is a festival it was definitely more challenging for them, they still managed to receive a positive reaction from the crowd. They played all the well known songs to keep everyone going and near the end they dedicated the last song to the mosh pit, which by then I gave in and decided to get in and about it myself, I never regretted being muddy or being pushed about by drunken people once. Very keen on seeing them play Stereo in October! Tinie Tempah 4 out of 5 I know, but don’t judge too strongly as I did. I got dragged along here as I would have been stranded and I am so grateful that I was. He really knows how to get a crowd bouncing! No matter where you were in that audience there HAD to be a mosh pit, mud splashing all over you and various cups of unknown thrown overhead. His performance was insane and brought in a large amount of fans that knew at least one song (even knew the words!) The Last Shadow Puppets 5 out of 5 Absolutely incredible. Miles Kane and Alex Turner are the most majestic pair I have ever seen! I went to their gig in Edinburgh and loved them but they absolutely topped it at T in the park this year! Definitely my favourite act of the weekend. Moonage daydream was an absolute dream in itself, their performance was mesmerising and beautiful. I definitely would go back to this moment again if I could. (And below is me yet again, enjoying the beautiful “Dream Synopsis”)
Catfish and The Bottlemen 2 out of 5 I hate to give such a low score but it was purely to do with their fast paced performance and their crowd. It was filled with stubborn and obsessed fans who would either push about when you arrived near the centre, or would not let you move pass. A young girl was having a panic attack and everyone was masked by it and would not give a second of support to this person. I promised myself not to see them again as I didn’t like the new album and knew that the performance wouldn’t be as good when I first ever seen them. The 1975 4 out of 5 I personally did not like these guys and never really paid attention to their albums, but I heard they were much better live and they indeed lived up to my expectations. Matt Healy is a heartthrob and an excellent front man, his moves were on fire! The crowd was fantastic and it was so nice to hear everyone in time to the amazing harmonies, solos and synths the band hit out with. Definitely worth being a headline act!
