Can you guys motivate me to return to my book project? As in...hit me over the head with that motivation so hard I'll tumble over and faint, and then wake up a new, super motivated writer.
Thank you in advance.
I just spent 2+ hours doing work on my book project while listening to its book playlist in the background! I got done some general brainstorming, character lookbook updates and set a few crucial storylines in stone (well...kind of, heh).
I'm very proud of myself! 🤗🎉
Am I kind of getting back to the swing of things with my Jewel Thieves of the Opera book project? 🤔 suspicious...
I've recently taken an unplanned 2-3 week break after actually getting some crucial planning done. Maybe I'll get back to it for a little while and then take another couple-week-long break, who knows 🤷♀️
I'd love to talk about the project if anyone's interested in humoring me! 🩷
Jewel Thieves of The Opera fun facts -series part #1 with its writer and *executive project manager* writingisartdarling 📖✒️
If you are yet to be familiarized with my story, here's a little summary to get you going:
She's a renowed prima donna in late 1800s stealing from her rich clientele to escape a vile contract signed by both her desperate father and her patron, a man who now owns her entire life and regularly forces himself on her while her parents and his wife are blisfully unaware of what goes on after the curtain call.
I get to the point under the cut 🫣
One day you will still get your kind, soft, worth-it love, even especially after all you've gone through, sweetheart 😌
I will make sure you will, yes?
🌧️ What kind of weather matches their soul? for the headcanon asks, please!
Oh, yay! Thank you @ohtobealady for the ask 🩷
I'll answer this with a few of my book characters because I'm actually really into the project right now!
My main character Lucile's would be rain, I think. Not full-on heavy rain, but a lightish drizzle that still manages to wet the ground and you and make the air smell fresh afterward. A little bit melancholic and inconvenient if you have to be going out, but very pretty if you can stay inside and enjoy it with a warm cup of tea. I also feel like hail fits her so well as well. Again, so pretty and unique, but also potentially painful if you step in it and maybe even harmful to the infastructure.
Her patron would be the calm before the storm. The moment where everything seems calm, unthreathening and even hopeful. However, there's a storm brewing and you don't even necessarily know it, or at least you wouldn't believe it; how could that be true when everything's gentle and pretty right now?
Her patron's wife fits cloudy and foggy. A bit dark, maybe mysterious, potentially hard to see forward and kind of sad even if it can be very pretty. You don't go on a walk somewhere you haven't been before if you cannot see your surroundings clearly, you stand still and hope the weather changes. It doesn't really and you'll be standing there a long time, hoping either for sun to clear the skies up or rain to speed it along.
The conductor of the orchestra Lucile performs with would be thunder and lighting without rain. No one really knows when it will struck since there is no rain to signal that, you just see this kind of ominous dark patch of clouds slowly coming nearer and nearer and then...Boom! I feel like the suddennes and the flashiness of this kind of weather fit him so well.
This was very fun! It made me think of my characters in a way I probably haven't ever before 🙂↕️
Lucile and her love interest's vibes in Jewel Thieves of The Opera are quite literally just this song. They are goals, and all everyone should aspire to achieve in life.
