London, England
July 2013
Last summer we had the opportunity to take a quick weekend trip to London, during which we tried to squeeze in as many restaurants as possible.
Above, a beautiful tartare from Tom's Kitchen at Somerset House, which serves elevated British pub food.
Due to the dim lighting inside, we have no blog-worthy pictures of our meal at Clove Club. But trust us, this is a must visit. Set in the hipster / posh neighborhood of Shoreditch, Clove Club's cool, laid-back interior and impeccable tasting menu make it one of our favorite vacation spots to date.
The next day, we walked off our tasting menu in Hyde Park, followed by an Indian feast at Chor Bizzare in Mayfair.
With our mouths on fire, we headed to Vista at the Trafalgar Hotel for several bottles of rose. Although our entire trip lasted about 36 hours, we feel pretty good about we ate...we mean, accomplished.
The Rundown
Sleep: We're no help here, since we stayed at a friend's place.
Eat: Tom's Kitchen for an upscale lunch, Clove Club for a splurge-worthy meal, and Chor Bizarre for authentic Indian.
Drink: Vista at the Trafalgar Hotel, the rooftop deck of Queen of Hoxton, and the terrace at Somerset House
