end of year fandom appreciation post

I just wanted to shout out a few of my favorite TLK creators here at the end of the year since this has been my main fandom lately, hope that’s ok!

@volvaaslaug has written some absolutely incredible fics--and I mean fics that really made me feel things for characters and pairings I was at best neutral on previously, as well as pairings I adore. In addition, Coocham’s Christmas Tale is so beautifully and carefully crafted it’s truly unlike any other fic I’ve read. Hells has also been casually dropping stunning edits in the tag like it’s nothing and always has fascinating meta thoughts as well. A multi-faceted talent. 

@skatingthinandice‘s Meanwhile in Mercia series has been one of my most cherished discoveries this year, along with the Aldflaed fandom in general. It’s so true to character and supplements canon in the most natural, beautiful way. Katie’s edits are stunning too and make me feel all the things. 

@tsukkinami Cori’s TLK Monthly challenge has been so fun and a really great introduction to the fandom for me. And I have to shout out their fic clever-tongued too because it actually takes my breath away. 

@wildwren I’ve really been enjoying Wren’s Aethelrik College AU fic Goodness Like a Gift. The amount of times I have laughed out loud and also yelled at the angst she’s building...it’s a lot and in the best way. Oh and her character study of Aethelwold is fantastic too, check it out. 

@ivarthebadbitch has made some of my favorite edits this year as well as writing one of my favorite fics (*wipes tears* it’s just so beautiful).

@titaniae’s Aethelflaed and Aldflaed edits are so perfect that I can’t help but reblog them whenever they cross my dash--their gifsets are always drop dead gorgeous! 

@pokeasleepingsmaug‘s Sihtric x Skade fic is everything I ever wanted (KNIVES!) and more for that pairing, and I am loving their ongoing Eahlswith x Sihtric fic as well. 

I hope everyone has a restful end to this weird, terrible year. Thank you for existing and sharing your creativity with the rest of us, it’s been a bright spot in 2020 for me and so many others.
