i'm so fucking pissed and i keep getting more fucking pissed. i feel so fucking sad for bella ramsey because they had to endure the most vicious shit from the fanbase and incels since 2020 and craig never did anything to protect them--they were basically seventeen (!!) when they started shooting the show and the only person who ever took stance for them was pedro pascal. but you're telling me you're going to give kaitlynn extra security but do nothing to protect bella ramsey who's been viciously bullied by the internet for five fucking years?

and when are we going to address the facts that ellie's character arc, ellie, who is the core of the story, of the last of us universe, gets reduced storyline that is basically focused on everyone within the mile radius but her but abby, who didn't even need to get buffed because suddenly that's not important, gets longer and entire dedicated season? and you want me to think craig didn't cave into the male incels online? i'm so fucking pissed. so fucking pissed that he keeps patting himself on the back for doing such a marvellous job when he turned a beloved character into sidekick, despite knowing how pivotal ellie's arch is and how important she was for bella. it's like all the progress we've seen with ellie in season one was shoved out of the window? that's the girl that survived david? that's the girl who's been hardened by the year she spent outside?

and when are some of you going to address the fact that the one of the dellie duo has been fucking rewritten for male gaze and turned into main character? dina in the game wasn't just tagging along -- she was ellie's ride or die, she had her back, she was strong and crafty. dina in the show is turned into main character who's basically acting like ellie's fucking parent. i'm so sick of this and disappointed.

i'll be forever mad that craig basically threw bella under the bus. for fucks sake.

Completely forgot but here’s my option on the cure.

Ellie is immune but you can’t get a cure out of her via surgery.

The fireflies did two things before settling on surgery. A blood test and an MRI. That was it.

Plus cordycepts (spell bad) is a parasite so killing the host would’ve just killed Ellie’s immunity too so they would’ve been back a square one.

This is why I’m a Jerry Anderson hater ppl. He wouldn’t have sacrificed Abby, he wanted to be known as the man who cured humanity, he was a surgeon not a scientist.

Anyway, keeping Ellie sedated in case she disagreed or refused to die like that is inherently a little cowardly. They should’ve asked her consent or at least informed her of what was going on. Then they can be fucked up and disregard that because why the fuck would these people listen to a child that could save all their lives?

you know what, i am going to be a hater, i don’t care. not only the fact that the show is producted and cast with zionists and fucking hypocrites, they can’t even stay faithful to the material they had written. yes i am looking at you neil. abby being buffed is important part of her character, she is literally called a scar killer. they could have hired buffed, less known actress and give her a break out role. omitting this part of abby does not make sense — her four years of training cost her everything, hence getting caught up in the cycle of revenge. her physical apperance is a result of her hunger for revenge. how are you going to make a show highlighting the consequences of cycle of violence if you omit the violence? what’s wrong with having a muscular actress? she is taller than ellie even in the game, she’s twice the size. fucking hypocrites.

moreover, craig completely misunderstood dina and ellie’s dynamics. i understand giving dina more space to flesh out but so far, we’ve gotten more scenes of her with joel, than ellie’s. he’s taken some of the key characteristics of ellie and joel’s relationship and gave them to dina. moreover, he took a lot of ellie’s qualities and did the same thing. dina does not need to have personal relationship with joel (of that extent, to be practically seen as his child, as craig said) to go with her. dina goes because she won’t let ellie go through it herself. but the show gives us the idea that dina needs to avenge him too and moreover, ellie can’t do shit without her, because she is completely incapable.

craig mazin literally describes their relationship as mother and daughter, in terms that dina is the responsible and mature one there, whilst ellie’s immature kid on random revenge quest. ellie’s clever, sneaky, she’s not an ammateur. for christ’s sake, she spent year with joel travelling across the states. and you want to tell me she has no idea how to pack her back or how to stay quiet in open space in order to not attract infected or wlf/seraphites?

at this point, ellie’s side character in her own journey. she does not have chance nor space to be fleshed out and be shown as matured from the last time we saw her, because all those qualities are given to people around her. there is no point for dina to be present in the hospital when ellie kills nora. watching ellie work alone, would give the audience peek into seeing how ellie puts on a brave face, lying to everybody around that she’s okay. but she does not get space for that. when jesse shows up, craig literally says that it shows how ellie just wanted him to save her, like joel did. it goes further into letting the audience know that ellie can’t do shit by herself.

they could have given her the hillcrest sequence, where the audience could finally get a peak of ellie’s approach to violence. it’s not who she is. the premise of the game is that she tries to be like joel, when avenging him. but she’s not. ellie’s not like him and it’s tearing her apart (the theatre sequence when she comes back from the hospital). that’s why the comment gail makes about her and joel walking the same path does not make sense.

they never walked the same path. despite the fact that ellie tries to be hardened and ruthless in seattle, like joel, it does not work out. it’s destroying her. and the thing is, craig is not understanding this. and he’s not willing; that’s the biggest issue. ellie’s trauma and ptsd, as well as her approach to it all, is completely sidelined.

it’s quite obvious that the show is trying to avoid making ellie’s character unlikable, when that’s the entire point of the story. she shows the dark side of revenge, how one gets consumned by it—even at the risk of hurting those they love (“you’re a burden now, aren’t you?”). it’s clear that the show is trying to tread lightly after killing off pedro’s character to keep non fans watching.

ellie’s actions are supposed to be unlikable. yes you’re supposed to understand where she’s coming from but you don’t need to agree with her, you’re allowed to be pissed at her for being a dick a to dina. the show does nothing of that. they have got three episodes left to show us ellie falling into the cycle of revenge.

i know a lot of non-games tuned in because of pedro—that’s a fact some of you need to accept. and now that he’s gone, they need people to keep tuning in. they’re afraid of showing ellie’s ugly side, ellie’s bad decisions just for the sake of keeping people interested. you can dislike main character guys! it’s okay. it’s also quite clear how much of creative control craig has this season as neil and halley’s creative touch is practically none existent.

craig mazin absolutely misunderstood ellie’s character and her journey and i find it bizarre how much he’s gloating over his portrayal of her. it goes against core characteristics’s of ellie, her nature and who she is. and it’s been quite obvious he does not understand her since the violent heart comment. he made ellie incapable side character in her own journey and it pisses me off because bella ramsey is phenomenal and she’s getting hate for something that isn’t her fault. at what point will we admit that craig mazin completely set her up by fucking up her arch. it’s disappointing to see story as marvellous as ellie’s journey in the second game being completely botched because someone else cannot get over their ego.
