Sleeping tightly was a luxury in this world. Just a second of not paying attention to one's surroundings and it could be that person's death sentence as there were dangerous creatures wandering around in the darkness. But at the same time sleeping properly was something necessary. Without a good rest people couldn't work hard during the day time and achieve whatever goal they might have. Although to Jeonghan those two things were completely different ones.
He made sure to sleep properly all the time, all his training would be in vain if he'd be sleep-deprived and fell asleep in front of a suspect sooner or later, but that didn't mean that he was sleeping tightly. “Sleeping tightly is overrated” his mentor always told them when it came to someone complaining, “You'll encounter your darkest fears and wake up without the feeling of any rest. Just forget about that tale.” For the first weeks Jeonghan has wondered how something this oddly sounding could be true but with time he had finally realized that the old man was right. Especially in his new life, where torture and blood and the most disgusting secrets were everyday routine, it would be better not to let the mind take over to go through that again. Not to mention that Jeonghan's life has been messed up since the very first day he could remember and there was so much more to caught up on than just some months for watching other people being forced to confess their crime.
But sometimes it couldn't be helped. Every now and then his body was yearning for sleep and some rest and piece that there was no other way than letting his head take over. And it was probably the worst time the boy has ever had.
Whimpering Jeonghan curled himself into a small ball, the thin blanket plastic wrap he has found inside the unknown building and used as a blanket barely covered his whole body in this moment, and buried his face in the crook of his elbow. His body was shuddering as breathy sobs escaped his lips every now and then, tears were running down his cheeks. Unintelligible words, muffled by the long hair covering his face, were blubbering out of him, sounding like pleas to someone not being around. It was definitely the worse state people would ever see Jeonghan in. In this moment the boy was broken beyond repair.
But luckily people never got to see those moments. Ever since he had found his new place he had made sure to have it safe when it came to intruders, nobody would be able to get inside that building without him noticing. The only thing Jeonghan didn't think about was the current situation. Probably it has been the most stupid idea he's ever had but in this exact moment he wasn't at his own place. The special lesson has took longer than expected and as it was already in the middle of the night the boy didn't want to go all the way to the night club at the other side of the district. Instead he chose to stay at a strangers house he has seen occasionally when roaming around the streets. But exactly this guy was being around now.
