A fun AU idea would be one where nobody gets Canaan House summons, Harrow and Gideon get married cause, fuck, who else? (as if they'd choose anyone else) until one day, they receive a letter, not from God—the Warden of the Sixth House, Palamedes Sextus, is interested in sourcing some Ninth House bone adepts to help modernize his House's cleaning system.

Harrow and Gideon depart for the Sixth, with a simple plan:

Convince the Warden and Oversight Body to pay for this service, fairly, in babies; infants or active vat wombs, doesn't matter, just any substantial supply of new children

Don't scare the Warden off of the deal, this is the last chance the Ninth House has

Don't let anybody find out that this is the only chance the Ninth House has

Establish a good relationship with the Sixth, so they have no reason to question us further

For God's sakes, Griddle, don't let them know we're married, it's essential for optics that I have an acceptable cavalier

Alrighty ignore how grainy these are, idk my ipad sucks at exporting but anyways so I started this doodle like two months ago (hence pash looking completely different lmao) and came back to it the other day finally because I saw @pixelatedpetals post a raised by BOE au and they encouraged me to share mine! Lots of yapping about my take on the au under the cut bc its kinda long

To be clear, I have had this au floating around in my head nebulously for a while though if I were to write any fic, it would for sure focus on an older gideon infiltrating the nine houses however!!something I absolutely loved was the idea of how much Gideon might look up to Pash (who under duress might potentially maybe begrudgingly admit she likes the kid, okay?!)

Part of this stems from being hopeful that we will get more of Pash and Kiri interacting in atn but I am subsisting solely off of au at this point LMAO

vaguely, in this au Wake fails her mission to get to the tomb but ends up back in BOE territory after she gives birth (I have something nebulous about Pyrrha being more in control of G1deon floating in my brain idk details yet) anddddd they’re like well. We, for all intents and purposes, have us a baby suitcase nuke! We must protect and train this baby nuke to help infiltrate the nine houses and break open the tomb! Precious cargo!

Pash is a bitchy teenager who hates the existence of Bomb and has complicated feelings about her not so distant relation to an “overgrown zombie sperm”, (a nickname from another doodle I made of this au but I hate how it turned out so I want to redraw it before I post it lmao) but overall I think she would eventually fall into a older sibling-esque mentor relationship which would be extremely easy given how Pash is Like That.

I was just thinking about Pash as Aim’s bodyguard and I think it would be interesting to explore what parallels there could be to a cav/necro relationship if Pash was basically tasked with being baby giddy’s bodyguard/mentor in BOE. This doesn’t even touch on all the fucked up shit about indoctrination, child soldiers, and of course Wake and others’ involvements of raising this child to be like a super soldier of Death and also The One Who It All Hinges On (tm)

I have to go back to work now but anyways. Thoughts?! Is this anything/would anyone care if I kept posting about it???

Last but not least, I love the concept of having the lyrical part of Gideon’s BOE name be from MCR’s The Only Hope For Me Is You. Primarily the line “I still think of the bombs they built” (kinda cheesy but idc) but tbh the whole killjoys album gives off heavy blood of eden vibes to me :-) (party poison makes me think of them in particular lol)
