Because we’re less than 24 hours out from finale time have a pseudo-crack theory:

And I’m not sure if he means there’s a literal kid guest starring but???? My first thought was that on this show Shades are portrayed as children... my second thought was that Josh and Q are going to, for some reason, be eating cake with Eliot’s shade. I don’t know why his shade would be removed or why it would need cake but??????????? This is what happens the night before finale time I guess.

wild 100% accurate crack prediction: the monster falls in love with q and sacrifices itself to bring eliot back so q can be happy

Okay but this crack theory has reminded me of something I was considering the other night. We know that the monster without his sister was basically just a confused child trying to make sense of human actions and emotions. But with his memories returned and his sister now in the picture, we know that the monster is not incapable of loving and caring for someone else. And I think it would be really interesting to see a showdown between Q and the monster where he tries to reason with him??? And relate that love that he has for his sister to the love that Q has for Eliot??? Like hey uhhhh you know how traumatic it was for you when those librarians-turned-gods took your other half away from you??? Well that’s what you did to me you big baby monster can I pLEASE HAVE MY ELIOT BACK NOW?!

I mean, basically the first thing out of Q’s mouth once he remembered who he was in the beginning of season 4 was asking for Eliot back, and it would be a nice bookend to the season for something with a similar vibe but with the two of them in an entirely different place now. I have no real prediction as to how something like this would play out on screen or how the monster would react, but it’s something that my heart is craving if nothing else. :P

Hi Holly! So after reeling from the latest episode I had a thought. Quentin uses a very specific phrase to describe the way he repairs things -"Like I helped it wake up and remember what it was before". And I'm not implying that small objects = people, but, especially by next episode, Quentin will have not one but two people who could use some help waking up and remembering what they were before. I'm always so down for using the Power of Love to fight possession. Intentional foreshadowing?

Just now seeing this because my inbox is a disaster area but omg Y E S. This is actually somewhat what I was touching on in my most recent post. And it might just end up being some seemingly minor thing that Q ends up mending that makes the difference in the end or… it could be something much bigger. Because they made it a point to have past Alice mention just how much pain she can see future Q is in, and on this show magic comes from pain, and how powerful would it be for Q to pull some reverse battle magic energy burst and be the one to save or heal one of the people that he loves when it seems all hope is lost????? I know this show is not about triumph or magic being the cure to anything major, and whatever happens is certain to only make things 10x worse when all is said and done… but Q has been so broken and hopeless all season, and if anyone deserves to have a moment like this, it’s definitely him.

Okay so you know how in season 2 they find out about the blank spot near the end of the season and just assume it’s going to be caused by Ember fucking with Fillory when in fact they’re the ones that cause it after they piss off the old gods by killing Ember? I think we’re about to have more season 2 mirroring here with regards to what Zelda found in Everett’s book. His book says that he succeeds in becoming a god, so obviously they’re going to attempt to make some change to prevent this but... given this show’s history, that’s probably likely going to be the very thing that allows him to succeed? Or it’s possible he’s already made changes to his own book to throw them off?

IDK just thinking out loud here, but this could also tie into the possible “sacrifice” of Fillory and the new source of magic being found there? Taking action that leads to Fillory being lost and helping to create a new god would be the exact opposite of where they were at the end of season 2--killing a god and saving Fillory...

OH BRUH i sent in the crack prediction and you RAN WITH IT HUH. i've been thinking about that idea all day....what about like the monster paralleling the shadeless arcs from s2 with recovering something stolen from him, and gaining a level of understanding of right and wrong and of other peoples emotions? that would be fascinating (if unlikely)

Okay but I love this????? We haven’t really seen that much of the monster since he got the final piece and having an insight to his emotional state now would be fascinating. There’s this moment in 4x04 where Quentin’s boxing up his dad’s things and the monster shows up and Q says to him, “there has to be someone you care about,” and the monster responds that he doesn’t remember. And in hindsight that’s such an important moment? Because we know now that there IS, and I cannot wait to see how the monster and Q especially interact from this point on. xD

Absolutely! The setup is right there and I wish they take it. Plus, I have never been able to let go that the knight's name was /Ora/ as in. the last three letters of Pandora

Oof that is... a really good catch. The only thing that makes me feel they’re probably not going this route is that right now it looks like Everett is being set up as the next big problem, although a lot can change in just one episode on this show so who knowssssss

even if they drain his magic reservoir he might be able to use the one in fillory?

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m thinking and like... it has to come into play somehow? They’ve already done a great job of bringing almost everything together gearing up for the finale, the only thing left really is Fillory...
