the way martin has to kinda drag information out of Jon is so real i relate to him a lil bit more every time (this is not a good sign)
Martin is lowkey so trigger happy about these explody power WHICH I LOVE FOR HIM- HOWEVER i'm kinda suprised that he doesn't get that it makes Jon so uncomfortable? like Jon is CLEARLY very avoidant abt using his power to overwhelm others, and Martin is usually the more emotionally available/open of the two, so i just expected him to be a lil more.. ig, sensitive with that? then again, Martin doesn't have the same perspective or qualms with using a world-ending evil power.

...so is the Extinction the end goal of this world? no... thought I suppose if this "new world" does last that long to get near that point, that's when the new power might be born.
so. if this theory is correct, the Eye is most likely aware of this. and the eye has been benefitting the most out of all the entities from this new, strange world. it's already got SO MUCH more power generated than all the other fears. So i'm guessing that the eye WANTS Jon and Martin to make it to the tower and turn the world back, so that this huge cycle can start anew. When the world returns to normal the fears are still present so they can still benefit from the humans, the Eye is stocked up on a LIFETIME of fear, and there's new fear (ptsd) to be continuously harvested from the survivors (everyone) who have experienced the most inconceivable horrors imaginable.
