Imagine having a son with Thorin who looks like a Dwarf but has human height and Thranduil is so intimidated by your baby.
Your son:*looks exactly like Thorin, but is a 6'5" giant* You must be the Elven King Thranduil, it’s nice to meet you sir. *goes to shake Thranduil’s hand only for it to swallow the Elf’s hand*
Thranduil: *not used to being able to look a Dwarf in the eye without having to look down* * praying you and Thorin won’t leave him alone with your son*
I'm thinking of posting a few monster and magic imagines for the hobbit during the month of October. One everyday for a month might get tiring for some people so I was going to post three or four a week and I need ideas for what monsters you want.
Summary: Thorin’s a little infatuated by you from the moment you meet.
You had quite unexpectedly landed in middle earth a few days before the meeting at Bag End was supposed to take place. Luckily for you, you had landed in the back of that meddling wizard’s cart. He took one look at you with those mischievous twinkling eyes, and without missing a beat, he said, “young lady, how would you fancy an adventure?“
Several days later at Bag end, after the song that was basically about trolling a fussy hobbit, there was a pounding on the door. You knew all about this quest, so you knew who was at the door. Gandalf said, ”(y/n) would you go wait in the smoking room until I call for you?“ You shot him a suspicious glare, but obeyed him none the less.
After Bilbo had passed out Gandalf turned to the Dwarf king and said, “I may or may not have added someone to my list of who I want to come along on this quest.”
Thorin shot Gandalf a dangerous look as he growled, “and who might that be?”
Gandalf murmured, “Let me introduce you to her.”
As the old wizard called your name, Thorin mouthed, ‘her?’
You entered the large port hole of a door that sat behind Thorin, and as said Dwarf turned around Gandalf announced, “This is (y/n), she’s an oracle, but don’t expect her to know everything, her powers work with only big things.”
The other dwarves did not seem to fond of the idea of letting a female endanger herself on the quest. But Thorin just sat there and gawked at you, his pupils blown wide. He was silent and stiffly twisted around in his chair. The look of awe in his eyes when he looked at you gave you confidence. Dwalin snorted, “She has no place in the wild, she belongs at home, in the kitchen.”
You retort, “ you mean where the knives are?” Giving him a pointed look of warning. The old dwarf was about to reply when Thorin, without turning around, holds up his hand to his friend to signal him to be silent. Thorin gestures for you to come closer, and you moved beside him. He looks up at you like you’re everything…No the only thing. He opens his mouth but no words come out, just a rasping squeak. Upon hearing this his mouth snapped shut, and he cast a panicked look to his kin. Most of which, minus Gloin, Bombur, and Oin, looked at him like he’d lost his damn mind. In all fairness he felt like he had, at the moment he could not form a coherent sentence to save his life.
Upon hearing the tall wizard chuckle at his loss of composure, Thorin sent him a murderous glare and internally vowed to kick him in the shins as soon as you were asleep. However his thoughts were quickly sent a scatter on the winds of his own emotion when you gently grabbed his chin and made him look up at you once more. His hands found their way to your hips as you inquired, “you know my name, but I have yet to hear your’s.”
"I’m~“ he stammered, briefly before taking a large gulp of air to continue his sentence, "Dwarf…" Thorin’s brain automatically groaned at his stupidity, but much to his relief you had found it amusing.
You chuckled, "Thank you, I can see that mister Dwarf, but I asked you for your name.” Sitting on the arm of his chair, and leaning closer to him.You noticed that Thorin’s eyes went wide for a moment, before you scented the foul sharp smell of iron on the air. You quickly spotted blood dripping down from his nose into his mustache, and over his soft voluptuous lips, before disappearing into his beard. You felt bad for doing too much, you sighed, “oh goodness it looks like I’ve gone too far, here take this and pinch the bridge of your nose as you tilt your head back, while I get you some water.” Handing him your handkerchief and getting up.
Soon as you were gone the rest of the dwarves sat in silence looking at their king. The first on to break the still air was Gloin, who snickered, “you were like a wee dwarfling seeing a jewel for the first time.” And proceeded to giggle childishly at the much older dwarf.
Thorin’s nephews figured it out and started to chant infantile rhymes about you and their uncle pounding the hammer to the anvil together to forge a greatest craft of all, a wee pebble. Balin quipped, “I hope you still carry around those courting beads you made when you were younger, I’m sure the lass will love them.”
Thorin finally groused, “shut up all of you.” In a slightly nasal tone, due to the fact his head was back and he was pinching his nose to try and cease the blood flow.
You arrived moments later with a wet towelette to wipe up the blood. As you wiped the sticky substance from Thorin’s neck, Gandalf mused, “ What do you think of Thorin, lass? He’s very smooth and tactful wouldn’t you say?” You watched Thorin’s face contort slightly in offense and embarrassment, making you suddenly feel protective over him, so you flipped Gandalf the bird.
When the company decided they had had enough of watching Thorin bumble of his words trying to talk to you, they collectively moved to the smoking room. However as thorin tried to return to his suave self, he kept tripping over things, first his chair, then an upturned corner of a rug. He also stubbed his toe on a door frame, much to your and everyone else’s amusement.
After the singing, and the smoking Thorin fell asleep with his head on your lap. During this time Balin approached you, and patiently waited for you to notice him, which you did immediately. You gently acknowledge, “Can I help you, Balin?”
"You know my name?“ He replied with some shock.
You chuckled and smoothly mumbled, "I know all of your names and the faces that go with them.”
The old dwarf frowned for a moment before inquiring, “Then why did you have to ask Thorin’s name earlier. ”
"So I didn’t alarm him, and make him suspicious of me, and also to get him to talk. He seemed like he was unfocused and absorbed by my presence.“
"He seemed quite taken with you, I must admit that.” He insisted.
You agree, “ quite obviously too,” looking up to give him a smile.
Balin hesitated, “ He’s a good dwarf you know, very loyal and…honest.”
You smirk and say, “ I don’t doubt that he’s loyal or honest, but first let’s get him on a level of comfort where he can at least talk to me first.”
Balin smiled, wished you a good night and pleasant dreams, and went off to bed.
