Cori didn’t mind taking the lead every now and then. He guided the group through the woods with ease, enjoying the scenery and allowing the chatter to fade away behind him. It was relaxing, and he could nearly convince himself he was close to home.
A flash of red shot by the side of his vision, and Cori’s hand flew to the hilt of his sword. But his heart skipped only a beat before he realized it was Two, and he sighed. The younger hero turned back, smile fading as he realized what happened. Cori waved off his apology, absently rubbing his earlobe on his deaf side.

Cori is the Hero of Men, the hero shown in the intro of Minish Cap. He was the og creator of the Picori Blade, and can still see the Minish despite being in his late 20s by the time of this AU. He completed his original journey while in his mid-to-late teens.
As noted in this particular snippet, Cori is partially deaf as a result of an accident on his journey. A poorly placed bomb went off in a very echo-y tunnel, and while he wasn’t close enough to be too badly injured, the sheer volume of the sound of the explosion caused some issues. It’s an adjustment for some of the other heroes to remember not to sneak up on his deaf side, but he knows they don’t do it on purpose. He’s a rather patient person, and forgiving when slip-ups happen.
He’s not so forgiving when he catches one of the others being careless with their bombs. He stays well away from those, and tries to direct them away from using them as much as he can. Bombs inside or near tunnels are absolutely, completely out of the question.
