Leonardo

Leo was mentally slapping himself over and over and over again. But it’s not like it’s his fault, being stuck on this roof, holding you as you coughed up puddles of pool water.

For a little background, he had been doing his usually patrols on the city, when he ran across a rooftop he thought had been empty. Through the corner of his eye however, he happened to catch you floating face down on the roofs pool.

Leo stood up, but before he could give his usually speech of “don’t tell anyone or I’ll find you”, you spoke up.

“Thank you,” your throat hurt to talk, you felt raspy and quiet, but he saved you. The least you could do was say thank you.

When he didn’t respond, you wiped your face and pushed your hair back, before looking back up at him, staring him in the eyes. He was studying you, his eyes watching you as you thought about what else to say.

“Thank you. Can I have your name?”

Leo was uncomfortable, to say the least. He hadn’t expected you to say thank you, much less ask for his name. No one they saved ever asked for their names. He shook the question around in his head for a second before taking the chance, rolling his shoulders back to seem more relaxed.

“Leonardo.”

You nodded your head slowly, wiggling your toes, trying to get the courage to stand up. Leo seemed to realize your plan, because he outstretched has hand. “Thank you, Leonardo,” you rested your forehead against the bicep you were holding on to, closing your eyes to calm your erratic breathing and the pain in your throat. Your fingertips were pruny, and it felt good when you ran them over the smaller scales on his arm.

His name on your voice, your hand and forehead on his shoulder, Leo felt goose pimples prickle up his arms and neck, trying very hard not to physically shiver.

“You don’t have to thank me. Just doing what I normally do.” Leo tried to say as heroically as possible.

You gave a weak laugh, turning your head slightly to look up at him again, “It’s not everyday you get your life saved, especially not by a superhero.” You laugh a faintly, noticing how Leo smiled at that comment.

Raphael

Raphael had been following you for a few blocks before you got jumped. Okay no he wasn’t follow you per say, he was following the guys that were following you. He saw how those sneaky bastards were eyeing that pretty handbag and cute, expensive looking heels you were minding your own business in.

He groaned as he watched you round into an alley he knew was a dead end, jumping down just a second too late to see you get hit square on the nose. You opened your eyes, a strike of head aching pain riding up your forehead and into your eyes, making them go teary, “Where did you fuckers go, I want my fucking purse back.”

Your eyes began to focus, your hands holding your nose as blood began to dribble down. You watched as the huge lumbering shadow in front of you focused and turned into... a turtle?

He was holding your purse in an outstretched hand, his face almost annoyed that you hadn’t taken your bag back yet. When you didn’t move to grab your purse however, he finally gave a sigh.

“Tilt yer head back,” his voice was deep and it sounded almost like a command, but you followed, tilting your head back till you felt the lighting strike of pain in your forehead subside. Raph felt bad for you, you were just trying to get home.

He placed your purse on the floor in front of you, ready to turn and jump onto the fire escape before you reached forward, tugging at his hand. He pulled his hand back, making you jumped back.

Now that your hands weren’t covering your face, Raph could see the blood from your nose, it dribbled onto your lips.

“Thank you,” you said, a metallic taste on your tongue. Looking around the alley and seeing those assholes tossed about, the one halfway in the dumpster made you almost smirk.

“How’d you do that so fast? I guess it doesn’t matter, if you hadn’t showed up...” you pulled a handful of  receipts from your purse, shrugging as you pressed them to your nose.

Raph shifted from one foot to another, on one hand he wanted to leave, just jump up onto the roof and run. He knew Leo would be on his ass if he found out he had stuck around to talk to you. On the other hand though, it felt good to be thanked.

“You have a name I can call you? Mines y/n.” Your nose stopped bleeding, and you tossed the red receipts into the dumpster.

He didn’t give it much thought before saying, “Raphael.”
