I’ve been listening to a lot of Two Steps From Hell this past few days. And then... there’s this video. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to change the entire fucking back-canon for the Veil in TMoMG and those wars between the fae and the vampires: make them even bigger, involve more races.

You see, when the Veil decided it would banish all otherkin except for the fae and witch kin for all seasons save the Resting one, there had to be a reason why all of them got the boot. And that reason simply has to be that the battle was between one side--the fae and witch kin--and the other side, which comprised all the other supernatural races.

Why? I’ve no damn idea right now, but tell me (if you know my story) that it wouldn’t be cool as FUCK if that guy in red with the red magic was Valois in that war (but yeah, not looking as buff as that - lol!), seeing his home being destroyed and knowing that the only way he could help save it would be to call upon his father’s incredibly-powerful (yet utimately evil) magic that he’d worked for centuries to lock away, to help him. He would basically become a warlock--waerloga, the oath-breaker--in that moment, as he frees the essence of his father that was within him... and it almost consumes him.

The more I think about it, the more I need to write that history of the Veil, but dear god that would be terrifyingly Tolkienesque in its potential scope, and I’ve no bloody idea where to start.

(Yes, the video falls a bit flat after the Dragon Age stuff is cut into other stuff that doesn’t really fit in, visually, but it’s still pretty damn epic.)
