I do think you lose your right to medical privacy when you decide to become a politician and it is mad fucked up that these people hold our lives in their hands and are allowed to disappear for months on end with no explanation. You need a doctor’s note to miss school for a cold but we have no clue if Mitch McConnell is dead or alive and Tom Kean was allowed to fuck off for 4 months without telling the public why. I don’t give a fuck about your privacy, you’re not protecting my privacy, if you’re leeching tax dollars and partying it up in a rich person rehab resort somewhere while your constituents vote against our access to healthcare, we should be allowed to know. Fuck you. I say this as a disabled person, I’m always having to explain the nature of my disability and the details of my health but we’re not allowed to know what the fuck is going on with these people.

Part 1: What does Cuddy actually like about House as a person? I find their dynamic really interesting, obviously he’s an amazing doctor so good for the hospital but she seems to genuinely like him

This is really, really more of a @cuddytism question, but I think that it's a couple of things. You're right that Cuddy genuinely likes House; that's actually quite important, because it explains just about everything she does on the show, even without a romantic lens (which, of course, there is).

We see that Cuddy, for example, is actually just a reckless and wild as House is when she lets herself / is in charge of a case; she appreciates his methods because they're lowkey hers, too. Same with House in general: she gets a bad rap for "letting him walk over her," but the fact is that when Cuddy does give a hard no, House does drop his reckless plans, and that usually she wants him to find a workaround. Him being told no, get more evidence, and then going and getting more evidence is… kind of the point. That's what they both want.

But it also says a lot about what Cuddy likes about House. She likes that he's brilliant and reckless and bold; we see she actually suffers from quite a lot of self doubt and insecurity in her own life that she tries to mask, and there's at least a couple of times where she explicitly tries to act like House (who she thinks he is, or his better qualities), to channel that confidence. She clearly enjoys bickering and banter, so there's that: Cuddy just kind of seems to, you know, find House fun. He's fun to bicker with, he's fun to joke with. They're good at winding one another up and they like being wound up, you know?
