Kol is mischievous, unpredictable and thrill seeking. He is very snarky and will often antagonise people for fun.
At his best, Kol is shown to care deeply about his family and Davina. After being revived for the second time, he wanted to become a better person and stopped revelling in hurting others.
At his worst, Kol was very violent and self-destructive. He became very cynical and negative, especially towards his siblings. He also became paranoid when he learnt of Silas’ imminent return.
Kol doesn’t necessarily like being a vampire, however, he does find enjoyment in his acts of violence. For example, at the Originals Ball he wants to kill Matt for entertainment, but is stopped by Damon. He loves to have fun and rarely takes things seriously. His cheeky and playful nature often put him at odds with the other members of the Originals. He remains jovial after becoming a witch again and often playfully teased Davina.
Kol has always felt like the black sheep of the family, and to cope with that he became snarky and arrogant. He always felt excluded from the trio of Rebekah, Klaus and Elijah, and always felt like he wasn’t accepted. So, he often went out on his own and found enjoyment in other things. He also gets increasingly jealous when Marcel joins the fold, as he thinks he is being replaced. However, it is clear that Kol cares very much for his siblings and family, and has an especially close relationship to Klaus and Rebekah.
