-you had always been childhood friends as you were adopted by the mikaelsons (later you will discover Mikael killed your village and spare you because of your witch power and because your bravery reminded him of freya)

-always being close but you were closer with Klaus. You always had a crush on elijah since being a kid but he realized it only when you became a teenager

-him scaring away your suitors and you pretending not to notice

-he was jealous of klaus and your friendship until it understood that it was pure and platonic

-Elijah holding you at night when you were scared  when you were early teens and then realizing that he never wanted to let go and how the dynamic of his feeling was completely different from what should be platonic as with Rebekah and then staring to realize that he doesn’t want you as his friend but as his love

-taking any opportunity to be with you alone like help you carry the water or other stuff

-Elijah always helping you bring stuff like water from the whell or helping you in anything with mikael shouting to leave those duties to you and Rebekah

-when you were sick Elijah would refuse to leave your bed side, and would feed you and check if you were ok constantly even if klaus told him to get himself some sleep

-being distracted while dueling by your beauty

-feelings started in your teenage years realizing it was not just a profound platonic bond as with Klaus

-classic everyone knows expect you trope, two pining idiots, childhood friends to lovers

-Elijah looking from a distance feeling to not be enough for you

-Rebekah trying to play Cupid

-klaus trying to make Elijah ac & react by friendly flirting with you

-Elijah being extremely mad at the sexism you and Rebekah often experience and he never treating you like that. In fact he teaches you how to use a sword and values your opinion more than anyone’s else

-Elijah teaching you how to use a sword ending in make out sessions

-kol teasing you both your entire lives

-kiss behind the huts

-holding hands in secret while walking int he woods

-one time bandits took you and he became ruthless  to find and save you*the first example of red door that the mikaelson saw*

-Elijah secretly loves it when you braid his hair. He usually does it himself but after seeing as you always braid Rebekah’s and klaus’s hair he let you try once and he loved it

-if you two are sent to the river for any reason you both will not get home anytime soon

-trying to steal any minute you can to be alone but is difficult considering you hided your relationship until marriage and as there is always a mikaelson calling on you for something

-you being jealous of tatia thinking they love each other’s before you and elijah got together, but Elijah only kissed her once as she initiated it and he realized there that he wanted to kiss no one but you. You and tatia then remained close friends

-all suitors being jealous of you and Elijah. Elijah had to physically duel and win with many to make it clear they should not court you and to protect your honor if they insulted you as jealous of him

-teenage hormones where no jokes for you two. Klaus non stopped called you love birds

-dancing at festivals and Elijah looking at you with heart eyes like usually

-you and Elijah talking about future plans while holding hands and looking at the sky while laying on the grass full of flowers

-when you got together everyone thought elijah’s jaw was going to break from how much he smiled constantly

-married when got of age . Mikael was against it seeing you as an inferior but when Esther explained to him that  your magic lineage would give them power he reluctantly let it be

-Elijah asking klaus to help him prepare your proposal

-elijah making him himself your wedding ring

-Rebekah making with you your wedding dress

-klaus walking you to the altar and then being Elijah’s best man

-Elijah building your shared house

-everybody at the village knowing they should not mess with either of you as the other is particularly jealous and protective

-Elijah being prevented often to save klaus as mikael threatens to k1ll you if he intervenes

-you always trying to save klaus form mikael when Elijah fails and being mad that he stops you as you either would end up dead or klaus would suffer even more if mikael sees him being protected by a woman

-being considered the best couple of the village

-everyone teasing you about your and Elijah future kids as is the core of Viking tradition

-you being a great hunter but can only go when mikael is not there or after you marry as mikael can’t oppose that. And giving credit of your prey to klaus to make him look worthy at mikael eyes

-cleaning each other wounds from hunting, fighting with others, or because of harm of Viking life with extreme care and then kiss them

-Elijah nonstop calling you only ‘my wife’ for a month after the wedding so that everyone knows and as you blush each time and as he can’t still believe his luck

warnings: none that i could think of but let me know if there’s any

elijah would definitely be somewhat in denial if any of his siblings would mention that he acted like a lovesick puppy when it came to you

and when he’d realize that they were actually right, there would be no point in feeling embarrassed about it

shameless about following you around most of the time and it’s not because he’d think you can’t protect yourself, it’s just that he wouldn’t know what he’d do if something were to happen to you

also just because he’d just want to be near you majority of the time because love

so, he’d definitely suggest teaching you how to fight to ease his mind and it’d also mean spending more time with you so it’d be a win-win

he’d be so in love with you that it’d be impossible for him to put in into words and you’d leave him speechless often

the highlights of his day would be a nice dinner with you and reading to you as you’d fall asleep with your head on his chest

honestly, he would only allow himself to fall asleep once he’d know that you were sleeping and he’d press the softest of kisses on your face and head

would do anything for you, within in reason because this is elijah mikaelson, just name it

he’d try his best to make every day a little extra special for you by doing things like bringing breakfast in bed for you and running hot baths for you at the end of each day

and if he wouldn’t be able to be there one day, he’d leave you heartfelt little letters to read

i think he would try to have simple romantic dinners often but for special occasions or, just for the hell of it, he’d go all out for you and it would be pretty close to perfect

nice little walks by the riverfront would be a weekly tradition unless he’d think that it’d be unsafe to do so

he’s such a romantic so he’d probably sway with you in the kitchen and the moment you’d smile and laugh at his sudden need to dance, he’d miss a step or something

that would show just how much power you’d have over him and i don’t think he’d be upset about it

also i’m sure he’d play the piano for you and maybe throw in a lesson or two if you’d be interested but i’m sure your focus would 100% be on him

he’d probably blush or stumble over his words once he’d realize that you were staring at him the whole time and that’s pretty rare for elijah

but it’d be okay because he’d definitely stare at you the same way and wonder how he got so lucky

elijah would be so soft for his s/o and would just want to surround you with love because he’d have so much love for you

what it would be like to date klaus mikaelson

let’s be honest,, dating klaus would be so eventful, and you can’t tell me it wouldn’t be

he would constantly have something going on.  did he kill someone important?  piss off someone new?  or is he just planning a secret date for the two of you that he doesn’t tell you anything for so everything is a surprise?  the world may never know.

this motherfucker would know just how to press your buttons and he would use that to his advantage.  are you upset with him?  he would know how to fix that.  did you do something to upset him?  he would literally know what to say to make you just as upset as he was (and then whenever you may or may not blow up at him, he would calm down and realize that he maybe went a little too far)

did you ever wonder if klaus would be a good boyfriend?  well you don’t have to look too far to realize that YES he would.  

he would be a wonderful boyfriend, despite... well, if you know klaus, you know exactly why i say that.  

he’d be such a sweetheart to you.  

i wouldn’t be surprised if klaus decided to keep you out of most of his drama, but if he did include you in stuff, he would be EXTREMELY protective and not tell you shit about anything.

Author’s Note: Requested by anon. This was so much fun writing! I love the Mikaelsons and it’s been some time since I last saw it, so it was definitely cool to revisit the fandom through this, hope you enjoy! <3

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way. Everyone is HELLA protective of you, no questions asked. 

Klaus takes it upon himself to approve (usually disapprove) any suitor you bring home. 

Rebekah makes sure you A) are dressed well and B) are surrounded by faithful, loyal friends. She knows like no one else what’s it like to be lonely. 

Elijah is there to guarantee you won't make a fool of yourself, you’re educated and proper, and that you’re prepared for the world. 

Kol is the one who lits a fire under your ass and get you back into your passions and ambitions. Never a dull moment with him.

Then there is your eldest sister, Freya. She’s either there as your mentor or your big sister, which usually means she’s there for you whenever you need a fun getaway to let loose or for emotional support. 

And everyone has their unique, specific way of showing you love. 

Klaus buys things, that’s just him. He shows real emotion though, sometimes. 

Rebekah spends time with you, as does Freya. Usually at home watching a movie, or doing something domestic like baking. 

Elijah takes you out to see the world, usually art or food. Museums, restaurants, opera’s, musicals, sightseeing. You two always end up strolling on some street after the event and (trash) talk about whatever you were doing. 

Kol talks, surprisingly. He’s a great talker and you always seek his advice, which he happily gives. Your talks are one of the things that make your bond so special. 

When you were heartbroken once, it took a lot for Klaus not to rip the person’s head off and instead sit by your side and comfort you. He did though, and you were very thankful.  

Elijah is your go-to person to go to when something’s wrong though, Klaus usually appears when things really hit the fan. 

Freya out of everyone, even Klaus, feels the most protective of you. 

She slipped a powerful protective charm in your bag once and it has done its job wonderfully. 

Kol once beat up someone who was harassing you, only because you insisted he didn’t kill them. 

You, along with Rebekah, are the ones insisting everyone spends time and attention to family traditions and celebrations. 

You two are one heck of a party planning duo, no one stands in your way. Not even Klaus, who has been known to tremble at you giving orders on where to hang up those garlands.

- Elijah loved music from an early age. When he was a baby, he used to hit things like a drum. As a teenager he’d make little woodwind instruments from reeds or wood.

- Elijah is a guest history lecturer at Tulane before he dies

- Klaus might’ve killed all of Rebekah’s boyfriends, but Elijah’s the one who gave them the “break her heart and I’ll divorce you from yours” speech

- He’s weird about periods. He’s the type of dude who like, visibly recoils when he sees a tampon. (To be fair, he is a vampire.)

When Klaus finds out about your (not so) little crush on him, he will sit there and grin at you with the most poop-eating grin on his face, even if he knows that you don’t know that he knows. And when you do realize he knows, he starts teasing you about it every chance he has.
